With the acid they might be just be waiting to gather more evidence to obtain a search warrant and then he could wind up in bigger troubles. I'd say he could smoke pot until he gets a court date, then should stop immediately and wait to see what happens in court.

This was in February and he has already dealt with the university and is just being fined since it is is his first time getting caught.
