    Jury Duty

First day of jury selection and I'm off. I really am glad I went though. People I'll say it again. I really wish more and younger people would show up for jury duty. I was so suprised at so many bigots, people with narrow minds and people who don't understand the process at all are getting on our juries. I'm still on call for another week so we'll see if I get another call.
But it is so importnat to get some new blood in there. (0% of the people were old farts like me and a lot of them were so ignorant and biased.

    Jury Duty

About 10 years ago i was picked for jury duty and i was pissed because i was self employed and would loose cash. Wouldnt you know the case i got picked for was a MJ case i believe it was possestion with intent to sell. Before the lawyers pick the 12 lucky people the judge asks a series of questions. One of the questions was, Are there anyone in this room that has a problem with illegal drugs? My dumb ass raised my hand and i told the judge i thought they were way overpriced. Well the judge in a very harsh way told me he didnt think i was very funny and i mean to tell you he was mad as hell. Long story short i was removed from the jury pool and i have fortunately not got called back.

Yeah you need to be quiet during the selection process. For jury nullificataion to work you need to be quiet till the trial is over and your sitting in deliberations with the jury.
This case was a domestic violence case and I was too far down the list #43 to get to sit on the jury. But it was interesting to see how the process worked. The guy ended up guilty and got 17 years. Which I think is a little severe.

Yes i knew i should hush but i was running a construction company i owned at the time and i was looseing big money sitting there. When i said illegal drugs were overpriced the judge reemed me a new ass in a legal pissed off fashion but i achieved my goal of getting out of it. Yes it was right before the selection process when the judge asks everyone seated as a whole various questions. There were a bunch of other people in there and when i said that you could hear all the chuckles from the others. I didnt think he would remove me imediately but i thought i wouldnt be picked and go home. If i didnt stand a chance of looseing much needed money i would of kept my lips sealed and i doubt if i would raise my hand to a judge ever again. Yes i learned in the military to never raise my hand but i was desperate to get out of there. I think the first week of basic training i learned the hard way to never volunteer for nothing or raise a hand.
