FIMMED and something weird happened

I FIMMED a few plants about a week back. I've never done this before so I dont know what's supposed to be correct. On the top where I FIMMED there is at least 2 new tops starting. The weird thing is the next node level down on all 4 locations there is what looks to be 4 new tops growing(looks exactly like the top before I cut). I don't know if this is normal but if so I got at least 6 tops on all the babies I cut. I drew a line and took the best picture I could. Can someone let me know WTF is going on?
