    Pulse start metal halide ?

Got a 150 metal halide fixture from work, get home and find out it is a pulse start balast, and the bulb was ceramic metal halide. I thought cmh was made for a hps balast? The guy at work said thats what they use, he also said he has used hps bulbs no problem. I tried both bulbs and both work, is this possible? I dont want to burn my house down!

    Pulse start metal halide ?

CMH bulbs ABOVE 250 watts require the HPS magnetic ballasts.

I'm no lighting expert...but, I think you're OK with the 150 watts? IMO.
