? about CO2 produced by a human
Hi all, I don't have too much experience with Co2, but I do blow on my plants to give them some extra and some wind, since I only use the fan for 30-60 minutes a day to save electricity, the production of which contributes to global warming and the degradation of our biosphere.
I became a member of this site just to counter the factless conjecture about global warming that was posted above.
Global warming is very real. and although co2 is not the strongest greenhouse gas (meaning it traps heat from the sun, thus warming the earth, like a greenhouse) it is extremely common and humans release a shitton into the atmosphere every day, because we rely so hard on fossil fuels (and we are at the mercy of their prices).
We are currently at about 390 ppm, where most SCIENTISTS (NOT CORPORATIONS) agree that we need to be at 350 in order to avoid worldwide disaster in the upcoming decades. in 1832 it was at 284 ppm. that's a huge difference which, since someone above referenced geologic time in millions and millions of years, is basically the time it takes to blink. Sure, fluctuations in the past (long ass time ago before humans) have occurred in co2, but these fluctuations accompanied relatively huge differences in global temperature, wreaking havoc and hugely changing and rearranging the composition of life on the surface of the earth.
CO2 is not the only contributor but it is major, and released when any fossil fuel is burned. Modern society greatly relies on fossil fuels, and does not want to change. Do you really think there is some conspiracy to put an unnecessary tax on all things that use fossil fuels, or do you think all those huge corporations that rely on cheap fossil fuels are spewing propaganda in the opposite direction??? We NEED to tax this shit, or else we are going to keep releasing it and we are going to warm the Earth, and then, there will be huge problems, like we don't already have enough.
PLEASE, PLEASE reconsider, global warming is huge and the scientific community is only on one side, on the other is big money. YOU decide who to believe and who really cares about humanities future in the next 2 decades.
Also, coal burning is a huge contributor to Global Warming as well as acid rain due to sulfur and nitrous oxide emissions. coal sucks it is the worst btw. But this form of environmental degradation is not the major contributor to global warming. I'm just clarifying this so everyone is clear on the difference. Acid rain hurts the environment, but does not warm the earth. CO2 and some other gases like methane warm the earth over the long term, which is why it is so hard to regulate. Politicians and people rarely think long term.
I apologize for my bad attitude in writing this, I don't want to alienate anyone from believing in the inconvenient truth of rapid global climate change. I'm not an expert or scientist, but I believe wholeheartedly that this is one of the biggest health issues of our time on a species level, and everyone needs to support changing our system and communities to be sustainable and not polluting, or our world will warm to a very damaging degree. It is happening now and will get worse and worse in the next decades. No one can predict exactly what will happen but it is known that the adjustment will be hard and there will probably be some mass death involved. This is an issue I care about personally and that I have volunteered a lot of my time to fight and raise awareness for. So please forgive my attitude and take a good look at the facts, because my response is motivated by my heart.
As pot smokers are an outcast to this society, I hope you all find pride in yourselves to be on the cutting edge of change, and that you reflect back upon the world the blessings you have, or perhaps have not, gained from cannabis. She is wise do her proud protect our planet or it will go to waste. Here in babylon we have the most responsibility to make change out of anyone.Udecide Reviewed by Udecide on . ? about CO2 produced by a human So the question is...... If I am sleeping in a 15' X 12' room, the same room contains my 12/12 box, anyone know how many ppms CO2 I can add to the room by sleeping in it for 6-8 hrs ???? or does anyone know of any formulas for ppms produced by the average human?? and is this even enough to make any significant difference? Thanks for the help! Rating: 5
