advice needed (canna coco)
hope someone can help me with some good advice here because im lost
ive just bought some canna coco soil as my soilless mix with nothing else and last week i planted a 3 week old female afgan kush AF into my pot of canna coco soil, been feeding her Ionic Grow at the right amount as stated on the bottle. for some reason she has started to turn a light or pale green color and not sure whyive not fed her anything else and i feed her once every 3 - 4 days.
i am totally new to using canna coco but im not sure about the feeding methods at all. the Ionic Grow bottle says to feed it once every 3 - 4 days and on the canna coco growbag it says feed it everyday? this is confusing me :wtf:
another thing i was wondering is if i have to feed it every 3 - 4 days what should i do if it looks like it needs watering earlier, should i feed it again or just give it water alone?
i could really use some good advice with this, thankssirruler Reviewed by sirruler on . advice needed (canna coco) hope someone can help me with some good advice here because im lost :( ive just bought some canna coco soil as my soilless mix with nothing else and last week i planted a 3 week old female afgan kush AF into my pot of canna coco soil, been feeding her Ionic Grow at the right amount as stated on the bottle. for some reason she has started to turn a light or pale green color and not sure why :( ive not fed her anything else and i feed her once every 3 - 4 days. i am totally new to using Rating: 5

If you switch to Canna's coco balanced nutrients now, you'll save yourself no end of headaches.

I think I read somewhere that Coco likes to be watered once a day, sometimes even twice a day. I think it depends on the size of the plant (roots) and pot also. But, I'd say if the ladies are happy, and not wilting from under-watering, then your watering shouldn't be the problem.
The discoloring could be lack of nutrients or ph lockout. What's your ph going in and coming out? Getting the right nutes would help a lot also.
If your problems continue, post a new thread in the plant problems section, with the form filled out and pics.

hi, thanks for the help. the PH going in is at 6.8 but not sure about the PH going out as its not been checked. i was thinking about watering them everyday with the nutes for a few days and see if that changes anything.
it also says on the bag its posible to use the canna coco several times but not too sure if thats a good idea?
i wont be buying canna coco again i think i will try a different soiless mix, preferably one with perlite and vermiculite etc. my problem is i now have 3x 50L bags of it to use upon a good note there are no signs on leaf burn and the tips are looking great eccept the slight pale green look to the whole plant. anyway thanks again

6.8 might be too high for Coco... Can't speak from experience, but I've been looking into using coco in my future grows. I'd go and read up on what other people using coco are ph'ing at. Some say in the high 5's or low 6's, others say between 6 and 7 (6.5 best)... Maybe try adjusting the ph.
It would be a shame to throw away all of that coco. Why not get the Canna Coco nutes? Many people recommend it.

its really expensive for nutes and ive just payed a fortune for all of the nutes i have now. ive bought bigbud, budblood, Ionic grow, bloom and boost 5L bottles. after all that spending it leaves me with very little money but would be cheaper to buy the other type of soil which here is only about £12 a bag. i have heard of some amazing results though with using canna coco. im sure i will find a happy medium using canna coco and the ionic nutes eventually. im gonna be doing a lot of reading on here later tonight about other grows using canna coco so i can learn more.

Is the Ionic Grow you have for coco or soil? Anyways, hope you get things figured out

arrrggggg! ffs, after looking carefully on the side of the bottles there is a chart. from what i read i have the IONICS Hydro Grow, Hydro Bloom and the boost. each are 5l bottles and are all now open so i cant return them. i guess he has sent me the wrong nutes
they are obviously for hydroponics and not for soiless mix. i dont have a hydroponic's setup at all and i know way too little about all that.
im just gonna keep using this stuff with the canna coco soil until the canna coco is unusable and water everyday because i cant think of what else to do now. i really didnt think to look on the bottles as i explained to him in the shop what i wanted (nutes and soiless mix) and thats what he gave me. he said it will be the easiest way to do it for a beginner without the headaches. he even gave me a 1L bottle of BigBug for free. i dont know anyone who grows hydroponically so i cant sell all the nutes so i guess im stuck with it until its gone. next time i buy nutes i will be a LOT wiser

For very little you could do bubblers. My bro only needs a small air pump. He will make a bubbler out of anything. He is so cheap he uses a paper hole punch and plastic cups to make netpots. He finds a bucket or 2 of lava rock now and again, just beat them up and wash good. Then he bums some GH nutes and a meter off me and he's set. He needed some PH down whitch last him forever and I had to go in on a quart before he would go get it.
Come over to the full hydro side and forever will it rule your destiny. lol

its a big jump
at least for me however there is one good thing about hydro and thats not having to worry about getting rid of all that dam soil each time. i might look into hydro a bit more though.
i called the store that sold me the soil and nutes and he did appologise as he sent me the wrong nutes and the wrong soil but that was because he got 3 orders mixed up thats how i ended up with the 1L bottle of BigBud for free. when i mentioned about the extra BigBud bottle he said for all the trouble you can keep it for free and also it is very posible to get the nutes to work quite happily with canna coco. he said the reason that the test plant has gone yellow is most likely because of nute lock and that i should let it dry out and then water it with just pure water then start feeding it half solution until its more of an adult then change to full solution.
hmm how many could i grow in a Bud Box size 100cm by 100cm and 180cm high if i was doing it as hydroponically? i hear they grow a lot faster and yeald can be quite a lot more.
