Just one simple question
First of all...please don't tell me to use the search feature because I have and I'm getting so much conflicting info my head is spinning! Also, I have to be very careful with what I view on my puter as I have way to many eyes around me to do intensive and potential exposure searching! I need the guru's to assist me PLEASE!
My question is: My babies are one week old! *proud pappa* I have 4 white widow and 2 Afghanies...whend should I start adding the nutrients? And is 18-18-21 ok?
Please....just a simple answer to a simple question! Don't bash me. :-(BudE714 Reviewed by BudE714 on . Just one simple question
Start feeding nutes at 1/4 strength at 4-5 nodes. But this depends on the soil you are using... If the soil has nutrients in it already (like Miracle Grow), you might not need nutes for 2+ weeks, depending on many things. What kind of soil are you using? Does it have the N-P-K values listed?
That 18-18-21 sounds quite strong :wtf: I'd look into getting Canna or Foxfarm nutrients... Veg, bloom, and PK+ at least. And don't mix and match manufacturers, stick to one. They have very clear feeding instructions online, just google "foxfarm feeding schedule" and download the pdf.
Good luck:jointsmile:

Just one simple question
Bigtops......thanks for the feedback first of all!
I'm using MG organic soil .05-.10-.05 with 30% cow manure at .05-.05-.05
Can I cut down my nutrients of 18-18-21...dilute down to 1/4 strength?
You have no idea how much I appreciate your feedback...please keep it coming!

Just one simple question
Regular MG soil is usually too hot (strong) for seedlings, and could burn (kill) them. Better to start in a seedling mix next time, in a dixie cup, with a little perlite.
Also, not too sure about the manure... Hope you added plenty of perlite.
What size pots are you using?
If the MG doesn't kill your seedlings, then the plants will slowly eat up the nutrients. The nutes will run out in 2-4 weeks, depending on the size of your pot. You should be potting up at least a couple times, so each time you re-pot with fresh soil on the bottom, the plants again receive the nutrients, and do not need to be fed nutrients, just water. Again, after 2-4 weeks, depending on the size of the buckets, plants, rate of growth, etc., the nutes in the MG will run out, and you need to feed with nutes. This is a total guessing game in the beginning, but with a lot of work it can be mastered. This is why growers prefer potting mixes with little to no added nutrients, or hydro for that matter, because you can know what's going better.
Also, the buffers to keep the soil ph balanced will run out after a month or two, and cause the ph to drop suddenly. Could also kill your plants. That's something to watch for down the road.
Like I said about the nutes before, better to get something meant for cannabis like Canna or Foxfarm. With the one you have now, you are probably not getting enough of something, and too much of something else. I couldn't tell what to dilute it at, because it's not meant for cannabis. If you decide to use it, start with very little.

Just one simple question
If you are running MG soil, (guilty),... I'd just run PH'd water until 6th node or more. When you get a tiny amount of purple in the leave stems, or reddish in the stalks, it's time to hit 'em with 1/4 str.
The N-P-K numbers are ratios, not percentages.
So, 5-2-2 is the same as 25-10-10.
basically, the huge numbered ones, like...26-55-19... are just fucked up ratios.
find the FAQ section and look up nutrients. (could be in my siggy)

Just one simple question
Bigtop...again, many thanks.
I started the seeds in peat moss starters then transplanted into half gallon cantainers. In the containers I used the MG organic and added 25-30% manure, yet did not add perlite. I plan on transplanting into 5 gallon containers with fresh MG organic, 20% manure and perlite (which currently sits in a 40lb bag in my garage)...the containers their currently are very lightly packed.....should I transplant at the 5th or 6th node? They are currently breaking out their 2nd node. (All this progress is within one week from today, from seed to 2nd node) Does this rate of growth sound healthy?
I will not add any nutes until atleast week 3....does this sound good? And I do plan on diluting down the veg nutes at this point if I cant get my hands on some fox farms in time. My grow is being done in a very subversive manor so I must, unfortunatley work around this issue.
BeFree.........I also want to thank you for your input. My question to you is, my veg nutes I plan on using are MG tomato nutes ratio 18-18-21....what is your opinion on those nutes and should I just save them for my tomatos and get some Fox Farm as Bigtop suggests?
Can either one of you hit me with direct links to the exact Fox Farms items I should seek as again, I have to be real careful as to the amount of time I spend seeking this out on my computer. To many god damn eyes in my home!
Please help me...many many thanks to both of you!

Just one simple question
http://boards.cannabis.com/organic-g...arm-nutes.html <--There's a little discussion about FF
http://boards.cannabis.com/basic-gro...ency-baby.html<--That's about re-potting. Should let them get a little root bound before transplanting. Not too much, though. That half gallon should last a couple weeks.
2nd node in a week is good... Just from now on, make sure you have plenty of drainage holes and even some air holes on the bottom and the sides of the pot. You want the soil to be nice a airy. It will compact over time, which is why the perlite is so important... more so with manure. I'd say go for at least 30% perlite.
