I recently germinated a seed 3 days ago and it was sprout when i got home today at around 12. I had it in a cup that had a cheap plastic cap and i cut out a huge circle to lit light in and i placed seran wrap on the cup and sealed it with rim thing i made. i sprayed inside the cup a couple times a day and i spray lots of water in the box all the time.

The box has a ton of air flow and so apparently the humidity is very low, as many of my other attempts failed cause the starter plugs went bone dry when i left then for even 8 hours.

My question should I continue to cover the plant with seran wrap now thats its germinated to lock in moisture or not because i'm very afraid of it drying out as its my last imported seed.

One more thing is that today i put a quart container of water at the same level as the plant so the water evaporates

is the sprout in dirt right now or anything? when you germ seeds, the seeds dont need light, just a little warmth. if the bean is cracked you should plant it right away in soil or your medium of choice. you reallly dont need that seran wrap either if in dirt. all my seeds have done good in the past when i just plant after germ without any kind of dome on it. just make sure you water it just a little at each time. dont get it sopping wet. i use a garden spray bottle with the nozzle set on stream and give each potted seed like 5-10 squirts.

nooo you're not getting what i'm saying clearly. it sprouted today its already popped up and i had take the cap off cause it almost was pushing against the seran wrap lid thing i made. i'm saying should i make a new "greenhouse" type contraption or just not and continue what i'm already doing already (spraying regularly, placing buckets of water, maintaining temp)?

help? things are going okay btw i just still want an opinion about the effectiveness of making semi-green house setups like what i'm talking about.

get rid of the lid, you don;t need that... it will actually suffocate your plant from lack of fresh co2 unless it has holes in it or you remove it regularaly.

basically what you've already done is a good way to raise the humidity if it is really that low... just leave an open container of water in the grow box/room/whatever, several if you need to.

that being said... what are you growing in? totally drying out in 8 hours seems a little unlikely given your temps even in extremely dry climates.

If your seedling has sprouted don't use any humidity domes as they need some air movement in their grow space. Excess moisture and lack of air movement will only create problems with fungus like damping off (stemrot) and will create an environment that is inviting to insects. You don't want to have a fan blowing directly on your babies when they're little but rather movement throughout the grow space that keeps air moving across the soil/substrate surface.

OK well I know i posted late but yeah I took it off after it sprouted and i've kept a container with water in water constantly. I also spray the inside very very often with water very liberaly. The blueberry looks like its doing pretty good now.
