    Growing outdoors. First time grower.

So basically I plan to start growing around June 14. I know thats a little late but oh well. I live in the south so I don't think that will be a problem. I will be using some seeds from some shwag that I got somewhere around August of 2008. I only have 2 seeds. I've already read up on how to germinate and what not. I have one big question that I can't seem to find an answer for on the internet. What type of soil should I use? Should I use a mixture of soils or just one? Any other tips would be helpful also for a first timer. Thanks! :hippy:

    Happy Frog
    Fox Farm
    Bio-Nova
    Sunshine(soiless)
    ProMix
Miracle Grow(most don't recommend, but worked for me )
Jungle Growth (currently using now which i'm liking:thumbsup: )

Those are just to name a few. I wouldn't recommend using topsoil unless your going to HEAVILY fill it with perlite and vermiculite. Also with the MG if you do use it be careful with the nutes/ferts as you can burn your kids easy with the time release shit in them. Lowe's has a soil there now called Jungle Growth which I'm currently using and so far so good. Only cost about $6 for a 2 cubic ft. bag (36lb.) which fills six 12in pots. That's been plenty for me so far. Transplanted 3 kids twice and I still have over half the bag left.

Basically though, almost any soil will work so long as you add the right soil mixes. That is the key to a good soil.

When you say HEAVILY how much are we talking here? Also what did you mix in with your Jungle Growth?

Enough for proper drainage. Not sure on the exact amount as I haven't used straight topsoil. The Jungle Growth was pretty good already with draining so I only added 1:3 to each container my plants were in. If your growing outside in the earth then that's isn't as important. It's more important with container growing. Also, I'm indoors not out. I only had one outdoor crop ever and it was some bagseed which came out to be shitty in the end! :wtf: So now I'm only doing good strains/genetic growing! Get more of an idea of what to expect and flowering times are usually known, so that always helps.

P.S. Normally people wouldn't answer these questions and tell you to read the stickies, but I don't mind helping now and again. I won't always be here to help, but I'll do what I can
