CFLs and LEDs ( Help? )

Hey everyone. I have a Hydroponic setup, and just started flowering a couple days ago. Im using Fluro tubs and CFLs. I was going to add some RED LEDs to the mix to aid and boost flowering. My question is will this even help? Ive heard that red spectrum lighting is what the plants need for flowering. So will using both CFLs and LEDs work? Will it even help or matter, because with all my CFLs and Fluro tubs on you cant really see the red leds hitting the plants. A buddy said just because the CFLs prevent the LEDs from " lighting" the plants up red, the spectrum is there and will help alot and improve yield over using just CFLs..... Please help! Thanks

From what I've read (no experience) CFL's are commonly used as a supplement to Led's for flowering. So I'd say go for it. It will certainly add more from the spectrum than just the cfl's.
