If we replaced the name "God" with "Truth," and then be honest with ourselves, I think everyone (atheist or believer alike) could agree that a "Truth" exists. We could also honestly say that we don't know the entire truth, whence it came and where it goes but know it exists, its not relative.

Beyond space, time and all of our concepts that we have created in this world (which is the source of suffering) lies Truth. Truth was true at the Big Bang and Truth is true now and forever. Jesus Christ is my personal savior because of the unconditional love that he tried to teach us about, not because of the very human egotistical organized religion that followed him. Jesus was anti-establishment, a rebel with a cause. A message to debunk the pharisees monopoly on moral superiority.

So... I identify God with Truth and Love with Truth because I feel it, not because I can prove it scientifically. Having said that, I understand the confusion about how a loving God could allow such suffering in this world. My only reply to that is that it is the collective Son of Man who, given free will, has chosen the good and bad in this world. Free will is God's gift and we have used it unwisely to pursue bodily pleasures and forget our Identity in God. If I want to cut my wrists, God will not stop me. Is He cruel then? Free will is a bitch sometimes. Ultimately I think we will grow up, stop seeking ourselves through self satisfaction and realign with the wholly loving Spiritual Truth, God. This is the everlasting Peace and Joy that is our inheritance for all who seek Truth (that includes atheists too). Thanks, MH
