what to do with these stragglers

hey guys, this is my first real grow.

i got 50 clones from a buddy and i have them in 2 4x4 beds. 80% of the plants are big and healthy, however, the clones i got have powder mold issues...im dealing with that with serenade and its working awesome. anyway, so about 20 % of them are waay behind the others and i want to know what you guys think about what i plan to do with them.

i was thinking just pullin out the sickly ones and training the other plants to grow in their spot. the only problem i see with that though is ill have my light set not to burn the ones growing tall so the ones being trained to grow low wont receive as much light.

should i go ahead and let the stragglers grow an 8th? i dont want to pull em because they are making a great come back after the serenade treatments.

seems like all the sick ones got put into this tray cuz the other one only has a couple and are making better comback than this tray.

and since im sure someone is going to ask, i am using LED's and they are working awesome. extremely good internode spacing...all my skeptical buddys are now askin me where they can get em too. this will be my first time flowering with LED's though, but not exclusively. im putting 500 watts over 1 4x4 tray and a thouie right next to it...im not going to block the light because i want to see how the plants on the edge do with both hps and led. but for vegging it is no contest.

I think your biggest problem is going to be that you have them all in the same soil and not seperate containers... roots are going to get tangled, the plants will fight for nutrients, the losings ones will get root rot and be extremely stunted and possibly die...

Hmmm well it's the exact same set up as my "coach" who harvest nearly 2lbs a light...he just has a lot more beds and lights. He puts 30 in each bed and I only have 25....so I'm pretty sure that's not and won't be a problem.
He actually came over today and he said he's not suprised cuz some of the clones shoulda been in the ez longer. I can't complain cuz they were free.

syde00 is right, i recently had the same problem where i had 2 growing in the same very large pot. by the time of harvest one of them still looked like it was only 3 weeks into flower and yeld was non existant and the other plant looked as though it was only about 5 weeks into flower.
when they are all in the same pot you cant move them around or turn them to get more light as many people prefer to put the shorter plants in the middle to get more light. also if there is any problems with nutes or soil desease or bugs then all will probably suffer the same. i would never grow more than one in a single pot again its a lesson ive learnt the hard way.

there called beds...search it, you will find plenty of successful grows. Search a guy named tranoble...he did an amazing grow with beds. I live in a very pot friendly town and we talk. Beds are very popular.

it would depend on the area space being used and how many plants you have in there and how deep you have it i guess but i'd still say single pots are a better way as im sure many will agree but if it works for you then great stuff

pretty much... but to each his own... its not going to upset me if problems arise

i;m sure it'll work if the plants are tossed instantly into 12/12... but if theres any veg period at all to let them grow a bit, i predict problems!

I have seen tranoble do great bed grows. I don't have the room for it and I go all hydro. It's all about tuning in your room.

As for runts, your master coach is right needed more time in EZ. But hey no worries. I let them grow just to compare un less you have something bigger to replace them with.

Follow your coach he is your master now. I wish we all had some one who cares and helps. That's why we come here.

Please keep us up with pic's , maybe a grow log. I would like to see the turn out.
