Irish Balcony/Window Grow
Hey lads thanks for the feedback,
I'm considering growing again, I have to think a few things over but if I do, it'll defiantly be an indoor project, using a grow tent. I have a question though regarding the grow tents when it comes to ventilation, I've searched around the place for an answer but haven't had any luck, maybe it's just common sense
So in grow tent you got your plants, lights, fan (wind), carbon filter, right ! Now I'd have to have this setup in my room, but when am I gonna stick the ventilation tubing, I'm assuming you can't pump grow-tent air straight in your room right ? And you can't have that silver tubing hanging our your window right ! So if i got no where to pump my unwanted air what do I do ? Do i also have to worry about fresh air too ?axlcinema Reviewed by axlcinema on . Irish Balcony/Window Grow I know its a late grow diary, but here it is anyway. Late spring May/ early summer June. These babies are 18 days from seed. I'm growing on my window and balcony (depending on weather conditions). I can afford to take that risk cos no one else is in the building and plants are too high up to be seen on the balcony. Its my first grow, i plan to flower them when they reach about 1-2'. http://i697.photobucket.com/albums/vv336/axlcinema/28052009108.jpg Rating: 5

Nice big gorgeous sativa you had there..looks sweet man! :rastasmoke:
Get yourself a small growlab tent, a lumigrow es led light if you can afford it and some DWC buckets..the tent will vent itself as they have black screened intake ports at the bottoms that just open up inside on their velcro strips and pull in fresh cool air from the ground level..the top has big ports that open up to allow heat to escape upwards, or if you get a activated carbon filter and exhaust fan just go with the small 4" can fan version that is not very loud and is really small you can just set it on top of the tent with the filter inside as there are supports built in to hold it securely without having to mount it inside..this will exhaust the air from the inside of the tent to keep the fresh air flowing and will keep the odor to a very bare minimum if any because the air coming out is running through the filter first then just out into the room from the exhaust fan, no need to vent outside, etc. Plus with the LED light instead of HID you will have barely any heat whatsoever but can still have some really nice yields with that mentioned LED growlight..up to approx 8-12 oz. or so from what I hear..using just 330 watts. About equal to a 600 watt HPS and very high quality end results.

Great looking plant Axl! It's a big'un for a balcony grow.Originally Posted by axlcinema
No problems here recycling the air in the room. I have one of the smaller grow tents with a 400 watt lamp. All the hardware in my set-up is contained within the tent (except the ballast).
One thing I'm glad I did, was to go oversize on the fan. Using a speed controller on the fan allows fine-tuning the tent temps with just a turn of the knob, and the throttled-down 6" fan is a bit quieter than the 4" running at the speed required to maintain the same environment.
Hope this is of some use and good growin'!

Right it would of been HPS right cos, no need for a LED Ballast.
Mind if you suggest the equipment you would get on this site please Hydroponics Grow Shop - Indoor gardening hydroponic systems and plant growing equipment. ?

1 Homebox Silver Edition in XL
Hydroponics Grow Shop - Homebox Universal Grow Box and Grow Tent Unit.
1 of these Eurogrower type hydro systems
Hydroponics Grow Shop - Yaroots X-Tank 16 Pots MAXI
A Lumigrow ES 330 watt LED...OR a 400 HPS with a digital ballast (maybe 600 watt HPS as it has ALOT more light & potential yield but will be approx 30% more heat as well unless you have proper venting and cool air intake, etc)
A carbon filter & exhaust fan for smell...etc etc
