This is just another reason as to why I think we're closer than ever to legalization (see my signature).

However, Obama at the recent town hall meeting made it pretty clear as what he thinks about legalizing. He laughed at the question as if it were a joke. My respect for Obama -1.

Still, you have to remember that he has stopped the raids. One small step in the right direction. I wouldn't expect President Obama to just get elected and say "Okay everyone, now that I'm the President I'm going to make weed completely legal! Hurrah!" It just doesn't happen like that. I'd like to think that he's playing the old "oh, those silly potheads" card so he maintains professionalism early into his term. Like it or not, most older Americans still think that marijuana is a bad drug used by stupid people. Obama's support could take a nose dive if he doesn't play this well.

As much as I wish President Obama would simply not CARE about his support with certain people...he's a politician...not going to happen.
