Serious Wilting!!! - Auto Lemon Skunk

Hi everybody,

Well i told myself i wouldn't have to post here until it was time to show off my buds, but it looks like i screwed up. I hope some of you can help me.


E- indoor
E- hydroponic
E- Rockwool and Hydroton
E- Tap water
E- PH around 8 right outa the tap
E-Age of plant: 13 days old
E-Type of fertilizer : Thrive Alive B1 Green and Sugar Daddy
E-Rate of application: First week half strength Thrive Alive and Sugar Daddy
E- 6 40w CFLs, 2600 lumen, 2700k temp, placed 15 inches from base
E- Air temperature fluctuates between mid 70's at night and high 80's during day
HD-Reservoir temperature: cold
E-Relative humidity: 30%-45%
E-Lighting schedule: 20/4
E-Type of ventilation: one 30cfm intake, one 30cfm outtake, one fan for circulation
TR-Did you pre-soak your media in pH corrected solution? Yes

Strain: Lowlife Auto Lemon Skunk

Setup: DWC, top feed drip, two 14" air stones in the res

After the seeds sprouted i filled the res with half strength thrive alive green, and half strength sugar daddy. Turns out a lot of light was getting into the res and after about 6 days the res smelled like piss so i got scared and dumped it, scrubbed it clean with mild soap, and flushed the lines with tap water like 3 times. I also flushed the net pots with tap water to get the smell out.

Day 7: they were wilting a little so i didnt water.

Day 8: i let them drink PH adjusted water

Day 9: 1/4 strength thrive alive and I thought I might be over watering so switched from watering 3 times a day to 2 (30 min each)

Day 10: PH was a little high around 7, had a party's all weekend and forgot to adjust it. :error:

Day 13: Woke up and checked the plants and saw some serious wilting on 4 plants, one has always been slow, and one looks a lot better than the rest. Looked down and saw my water timer had been unplugged for who knows how long. sprayed with sparkling water (no sodium) and added another 1/4 strength thrive alive green with 1/4th strength sugar daddy to the res and started the pump to water.

So do i just wait and pray they snap out of it, or do i need to take some more drastic measures? Thanks for any help!!!

Since you are running a hydro grow, you need to report the pH of your reservoir (where roots reside) please.

Be advised, always check pH AFTER you have added all nutes and suppliments to your water as they will change the pH of your tap water.

It is true that you need to know the pH of your tap water but (generally) don't count on it staying the same from day to day.

currently at 5.5. i usually keep it between 5.5 and 6.5 after adding nutes. I'm suppose to switch to flowering nutes very soon. should i hold off?

Update

Day 14: Plants look a little less wilted but not much. One plant is getting worse. The bottom leaves have started to curl upwards and the ends are turning brown (almost like they are bruised). Another plant is showing the same thing. All six are showing an even yellowing on the bottom leafs and some drooping.

I thought this might be nute deficiency so i dumped the res and filled it with 1/4th strength "vegetative stage" nutes and 1/4th strength "Flowering Stage" nutes from the mixing chart i received with my nute kit. You can see it here http://www.technaflora.com/sharedfiles/Canadian2007.pdf

I know u guys are busy and have better stuff to do but if you can find it in your heart to help a newbie out id really appreciate it!

Are they staying too wet in the rockwool? I'm not experienced with it but I have heard it is very easy to overwater in rockwool.

In the meantime, I suggest you KISS:

1. Lay off the Sugar Daddy and any other suppliments until you have a handle on what's going wrong. Regular nutes and pHed water only.
2. Don't make a bunch of changes at once. Troubleshoot one thing at a time and give your plants time to respond before doing something else.
3. Search the hydro forum for 'overwatering and rockwool'.

Time for some of the hydro folks to chime in...

UPDATE for the love of god somebody help me

Day 16: Added another 1/4th strength BC Boost, BC Bloom, Thrive Alive Red, and MagiCal. Total strength in the res should be around 3/4. ppm should be around 750 plus whatever was in my water to begin with.

Two plants are starting to look healthy again except for some yellowing on the bottom leaves, which is actually starting to green. The other 3 seem to be getting worse. they are still drooping and the tips are turning a brown green color (looks like bruising) while the middle of the leaves is turning a brighter yellow. It also seems like they have stopped growing.
