Question On Balcony Grow going herme ?
Hey there,
Have a question, I'm new to growing, first time only experiment, I would however like some success.
Here's my situation, I'm growing in my apartment, I have an balcony south facing, summers coming and days are getting longer. My 5 Plants are 16 days young and range in heigh between 2-5in, there getting roughly 15 hours of natural light a day and a regular house hold light bulb light for another 5 hours. This has happened consistently from seed.
Now as I go on learning about growing, I've learnt about herme's ! And I'm scared.
Will my household lighting effect my plants ? If so, I could stick 'em in complete darkness say 12/12 considering there only 16 days old can I still save them if my lighting is a problem ?axlcinema Reviewed by axlcinema on . If they cannot run their business this way, they should not be in operation.

Question On Balcony Grow going herme ?
Days are getting longer. The solstice is coming. Right now they won't be in flowering I presume. After the solstice you still have some more months before the autumnal equinox gives your balcony 12/12 of course it depends on the specific location of your balcony. Once it starts flowering is when you have to protect it from light pollution. If the only light pollution comes from inside your house you should put up a nice thick blackout curtain, turn on the light, and go outside to see if the light gets through. If there is light coming from out in the neighborhood you may need to put a tent around your plant or find some other way to keep it dark at night. But you still have time to go.
