I've learned from outside experience that it's good to have a spot that's sunny for most of the day, but with spots of shade here and there. My home is right in front of some woods, so I planted mine in my backyard and it got sun all throughout the day until around 4 where the sun would shine slightly through the trees giving the plant light still, but not intense enough to do any damage. They seemed to love it in my winter time firepit. Plus I watered EVERY day!

You could keep the plants from getting tall by LSTing them. If you don't know what that is, look it up on google.

Also, topping it will promote bottom growth. So if you chop a top then the branches underneath that topped chop will become your colas.
