i just started growing about 4 weeks ago. my plant is about 7 inches tall, but my problem is that the bottom most leafs r yellowing out, is their a problem? some thing i have done to it is: its in a blue party cup, and i put a clear platic bottle around it to give it the greenhouse effect, it sits on my window sill, and i put a BI-PIN blub (50 watt) light on it about 3 inches from the platic bottle. i water it once a day. also another question is how long on average will it take before i can harvest?

first of all your harvest is LONG away,,,at LEAST 12 more weeks.
ONE, you are overwatering if you are watering once a day. ONLY water when the soil is all dry as the roots will grow bigger and stronger that way. they are yellowing out cause of the overwatering. is the blue cup letting in some light? i think so. and the roots hate light and that could be effecting it too.. and your light and window sill technique is not that great. if it is 7 inches tall in a party cut, your plant is going to have some tight tight roots that will hinder itself down the line.
but the FIRST think you can do is STOP watering every day,,,,
transfer it to a bigger pot.
spend some money for at least a flourescent light about 150W at least. those are the FIRST things to do, then you also have alot of studying you should be doing. hope this helps for now

hi there, stop overwatering and spend some money on good lights....replant as well....you go indoors and you need lots of light if you want in the end to enjoy good quality bud....there is no point ,in my humble opinion, to try to grow any cannabis plant indoors if you do not try to provide the most nessessary things to the plant....get an HPS bulb of 250 watts for 80 us dollars at www.insidesun.com.....get a 5-10 gallon pot and fill it with top quality soil for flowering plants like GERANIUM,add a computer fan on a 24/7 basis and some ventilation for air to it and off you go......this way only you will save your plant and hope for some good harvest after a few months.....if you do all that tomorrow in example you can expect harvesting bud within 10 weeks or so given that the 12/12 cycle lasts 8 week plus two weeks recovering time.....hopefully your only plant will be female....if not take a look into this to get some ideas : http://www.dutch-passion.nl/engels/female.html
I hope that helped

The leaves start yellowing from the bottom upwards when the plant/s need nutrients, with you only having a small container the nutrients would have been used up pretty quickly. The plastic bottle you put over the top isn't doing the plant any favours; it will create an extremely humid atmosphere which will cause many problems such as rot and mould etc. The only time you need to provide a slight humid atmosphere is when cuttings are being rooted or seeds germinated. Like it says in the replies above, you should look into buying a small sodium lamp or some fuorescents.

I dont think the extremely humid environment like a humidity dome is doing you any favors. I think you need a bigger light, bigger pot, and water when the soil becomes dry, real dry. Try to make sure the growing environment is as close to 85 degrees as possible. The sun is the best possible grow light

All I have to say is that greenhousing will work better under glass, plastic doesn't absorb and hold as much of the heat/light/energy. But be careful, it'll get HOT! Keep a fan on it a LOT. That's probably not the big issue here, but nonetheless glass will greenhouse 99% better than plastic.
