Well once again hail has beat the crap out of my ladies. I think it qualifies as domestic violence now. They really took quite an ass kicking. They all got thined right out and lots of broken branches. I hope this doesn't make them take forever to start flowering now. Anyways I'll update with pictures on Wednesday.

Well I guess I'll update pics today. Here they are. The big plot has been beaten like I said, and all the plants lost a lot of bulk. Also there is a pic of the big one out backs multiple shoots from fimming, which turned out pretty good. Also the pics of the other plot, I staked the one as it really wants to lean to the sun, and its like 5 feet tall. The other is next to an axehandle for size comparison. Oh yeah and its gonna rain all week and then hopefully be sunny once the weekend hits, so I hope that helps.

I went out and looked again today, looks like I might have 6 or 7 females, I'm fairly confident that the things I saw were calyx's. No balls so far, so thats a good sign.

Alright so its wednesday! Well I have pistils! Also may have a male, can anyone tell me? Also these bugs that are only on the plot of 3 plants, what they look like alive, and I assume what they look like when they die. They are all over everything near the plants and usually there is 3 or 4 on each plant when I check them so I just flick em off. I sprayed with dishsoap/water today since I ran out of neem oil(which did nothing) so we will see.

So I found out what the bugs I kept flicking off were. Freakin ladybugs man. LADYBUGS!! I was gonna go buy some from a store, but I think instead I'm gonna snatch some from this area and move them to the other one. There is millions of them, all over all of the foliage around my plants.

Also today I looked at the plant thats showing those "balls" and there seems to be some pistils from the top main stem, and the "balls" are still there. They don't really look like the distinct pollen sacs of male plants just yet, but I'm gonna leave everything for another two weeks before I go chopping, unless obvious signs occur. Oh yeah and my large bush is now nearly 6 feet tall, which could be amazing. Damn I hope the frost is LATE LATE LATE this year.

So since it is wednesday, I shall update. No pics though as nothing really has changed, but I have hopefully sexed another 2 plants as female. The one I thought was a male is still showing the ball but is also showing pistils, so as long as it is only the one ball i am billing it up to an unopened calyx. I have had a few branches break off partially but had strung them back to the main stem, and ran string on some other suspect heavy or oddly bent branches on a few of the plants. So far so good, now I'm just waiting for a few more to show me something, but I am suspecting an all female crop

these are the other, which I believe are all female. 2 for sure are, and the big one that is staked is still not showing any sure signs of sex but it STINKS and looks pretty similar to the others of its breed, so I am assuming it is female for now. Hopefully it proves me right
