New to the site but wanted to say hi and show everyone what great leds are all about.
Dont believe the negative hype.....they work...and work well.
Just like any other product there is better best worse. I have had exceptional resulst from my led grows.
The only argument anyone can make about leds now is the price.
Those have dropped considerably in the last year.
Leds offer the exact spectrum plants use for photosynthesis without stressing the plant out with un-needed spectrum that has little or no effect on chlorophyll production.
I will be posting a myriad of successful grows done with leds from many different forums.
Along with those are my own pics of my extremely successful led grows.
Its all I use and I would lie to talk intelligently with people in here and not make this an argument.

I'm not going to...

If they take the time to read my grow log and look at the pictures and still say LEDs suck, it's not my responsibilty to convince them. In fact I rally don't care what anyone else dos with thier grow.

This is not a competition, nor am I anyone's keeper. They can believe the world is flat for all I care

well, yes, it IS a competition of sorts ... when you claim LED is the way to go, you should demonstrate with photos, just how well they grow plants, as compared to HPS ... I am EAGER to make a switch to LED, just like I switched to high-pressure lamps a few years ago ... but, I didn't spend the big bucks to switch, until I saw how effective they were ... some of us are still waiting to see the improvement, that's all ... money talks, us poor people have to see results, before investing ... Merry Prankster, I checked out your Grow Log, and you have a real nice, little plant there ... it appears to be identical, to plants I grew for many years, under fluorescent tubes, so I can't say there's any improvement there, $$ - investment-wise ... but, as I said earlier, I'm still rooting for LEDs, they will be the wave of the future (just not yet) ... :smokin:

I presently have 435 watts in a 3x3 tent.

72 F room temp
76 F at growing canopy
82 degree exhaust

Let me make my position in this question crystal clear. I am an experimenter by nature as my screen name might suggest. I have never said that LED have reached an even footing with HIDs, but have been asking:

1) where are we at in this development curve.
2) how do LEDs compare to HIDs watt to watt.

I have also said that LEDs are totally not fiscally ready.

I'm to blame for the short stature of the planrs, not the LEDs. Traditional knowledge says that a female will stretch from one half (Indica) to one (Sativa) of the existing plants heighth so I chose to flower at 16". But the plants only stetched less than a quarter so I ended up real short. My bad, but we are still learning what to expect from LED grows.

All bets are off.

But someone has to continue the push into the new technology, I guess that why I choose to join in with the pioneers.

I'm with ya, man :thumbsup: ... I'm especially anxious to get a really good, affordable LED lamp, since I live 'off the grid' ... low current draw, or, ideally, a 12volt growing lamp, is in my future, I hope ... :smokin:
