I did a little research and it looks like Goldenseal possibly was effective against an old test that isn't used anymore... a TLC test. Kinda sounds a little bit like the aspirin and the EMIT test.

Goldenseal is a plant and you can get either the root or the leaves in pill form. It's also a liquid or tea. The liquid is rumored to absorb slower than the capsules. Goldenseal is a diuretic, but works no better than other diuretics. Furthermore, NORML reports that Goldenseal is now being tested for. Taking Goldenseal is a foolish waste. Goldenseal has shown to work on occasion. However, some labs are reportedly testing for Goldenseal. Goldenseal is very unreliable, and California NORML advises against using it. Goldenseal (as a screen) only works on the TLC test, which is not used anymore.

Unfortunately, one aspect of goldenseal that has driven the market in recent years is the notion that goldenseal will somehow affect the outcome of urinalysis for drug testing. This practice is a part of American folk culture, evolving from a novel by pharmacist John Uri Lloyd. Stringtown on the Pike, the most popular of his eight novels, was published in 1900.


Anyway, Bozo was just telling us HIS story, and I truly think he believes that it helped (maybe he had an old test?) He is not a first poster in this forum and probably knows lots more about growing than we do. He has good reputation here and we should show him some respect. Although I wonder what he'd do if I posted some outdated information in the growing section of this forum??
