quick flowering question
I am going to flower my bagseed plant for 8 weeks. Is that 8 weeks from when 12/12 started, or 8 weeks from when the first pistils showed up? Thanks.

you need to worry about visual indications that are given off by the plant and not go by some number you heard or read about.
there are many factors that go into when to harvest, mostly trichome color. if you wait too long the THC will begin to degrade fast.
so you might want to go do some more research if you plan on having a successful harvest.

Better to go by Trichrome development than by the calender. Depending on any number of factors even quick finishing plants can take longer than expected. Eight weeks is on the short side to begin with, especially since you don't know what you're dealing with. A lot of people wait for the Trichs to be 50/50 (Cloudy/Rusty).
But to answer your question, generally 8 weeks of flowering would mean from the onset of 12/12 (or whatever flowering cycle you happen to be using).

Thanks for the info. Its been flowering for 30 days now and some of the pistils are just starting to turn brown. I will do it by eye but I justwanted to keep track of how long it had been flowering for that's why I had that question.

you should have been keeping track of how long it has been flowering for. no one else knows that but you.
the flowering time given on seed boutiques etc is strain dependent. and this is still just an average. there are always exceptions to the rule. the times you read are more of guidlines.
is your bad seed indica, indica dom, sativa or sativa dom? which way does the percentage lean if it's a hybrid? you don't and cannot know. nor can we.
that's why it is more important to look for the physical indicators.
get a cheap ($13, at radio shack) handheld microscope. you can then cut the small leaves that are getting surrounded with the buds, the ones covered in trichomes. cut a little piece off and look at it under the scope. they go from clear to milky to amber. the more milky they are the more the cerebral, or mental high. the more amber they are the more you'll have a couchlock type of stoned. to some certain effect, as each strain has it's own characteristics.

Unless you say otherwise I'm just gonna bomb the general comments category with about 5 different nute questions if, you'd prefer.

Bud,
Headshake can't accurately answer that because it depends on whether you do a horizontal scrog grow or a straight up conventional grow of a single plant.
Unless I missed some earlier post you made, even still, youz guys posts if multiplied by every confused newb on the planet, sound like the whirlwind vortex whoosh you hear watchin a dog chase it's tail.

Ross,
I only know enough to be dangerous here but I basically don't always like how callously some of these gurus dismiss myserties that are way more urgent if you are on a time schedule, which they have some how already liberated themselves from.
Ross, Not gonna make a big deal outta this my interpretation of the veg cycle, okay?
Too few gurus emphasize what it takes to get in and beyond the sexing part of the veg stage. Shrug. Possibly because. Fuck this shit.
You zeros kinda sorta wickedly piss me off when I am also
