Basement Air... Fresh?
Basement air has the advantage of usually being much cooler and usually drier then outside (at least on rainy days)....but holds the potential for mold spores and other nasty biological stuff.
The use of an inlet air filter, preferably HEPA rated, is a must. The addition of a small UV light in the inlet to kill pathogens will make it even better.
