No you can not....that is protected under free speech.

However if you were arrested for possessing marijuana without a medical recommendation or in a state without medicinal use laws, you better have a damn good lawyer if your going to use religion as you're get out of jail free card........(and still that won't be free)

well i beleive that in the U.S. that to be used as a defense it has to be a recognized religion and marijuana is a plant not a religion. you could say you use it for religious purposes, wich there is or was a church in florida and they got popped. never found out the outcome. the only religion i know of wich is allowed to used drugs is some groups of american indians are permited to use peyote.

and then when we start claiming it our religion to break the law where does it stop? the muslims say they can kill their women acording to their faith, this is a recognized religion here with millions practicing but i dont think that your going to walk on a murder charge because it your religion.

the best thing to do is dont get busted. but if you do dont narc your freinds or enemys out, stand up take it like a man. the old saying is always true: if you cant do the time dont comit the crime.

I don't know the story 100% only bits and pieces but some group of people ,and by group I mean 3 stoners up in NH a few years ago or maybe a while back started a religion and claimed that the Plant was their god or something along the lines of that. They claimed the religion called for blazing in order to do some bullshit with their "god". Basically these three guys used it as an excuse to blaze in the basement, when they got caught they used the made up religion to protect them. Though the 1st amendment protects religion, but it has to follow the legal rules that are set up in the state and fed governments i.e. no pot smoking. Religions that sacrifice animals have to find different methods of practicing their religion cause animal cruelty is illegal in the good ole US of A.:thumbsup:

A good lawyer COULD get you out of it. You'd have to prove you were a long-time practicing Rastafarian or something. But I'm assuming you've already been busted, so that's basically impossible to do.

In Aus this wife and husband said they were Christians and used their plants to make the anointing oil. In the Bible where the ingredients of the annointing oil are listed (no idea where, not religious) it says Kaneh-Bosom. This was originally translated to Calamus. But the correct translation, translated into Greek is kannabus or something like that and then English is Cannabis.

You'd need a GOOD lawyer though.
