Just because a sample gets sent off to a lab does not mean that its going straight to the GC/MS.
The site of collection and the site of analysis are often at two seperate facilities.
Your sample will still go thru the initial IA screening at the lab. The confirmation GC/MS will only be done on the panels that tested positive on the IA screen.
