Jake, LOL! I know what you mean by an obsession smoking pot may not be addicting but growing it sure is. I have a tendency to over water too so I got a gizmo at Home De pot that gauges the water content and I am surprised by its results in both directions more times then not. So how about some new pics!

Jake, Oh tell your wife that caring for your little grows will make you a more sensitive and nurturing man.....if that doesn't work then tell in that in 15-20 years when she becomes a quivering mass of hormones she'll be grateful for all your growing experience(BG)

A white or clear plastic bottle or jug with the bottom cut from it can be used to buffer and improve the outdoor environment for little tiny seedlings. Put the jug over the wee plant. I use this for garden plants in the early Spring.

Use mulch also. Fine pine bark, peat moss, grass clippings/straw, wood shavings/sawdust, works to buffer the topsoil's moisture and can help with insect pests too.

I know what you mean by growing being addictive; sort of like the Pringles commercials - once you pop, you can't stop! New pics are about to be posted; although this batch of photos isn't that good. I will take some time to take some better photos - hopefully later this week.

My wife is really laid back most of the time. And, in this case, as in most others she is right in that when I do get home from work, I need to spend my time with her and my kids rather than updating my log and/or viewing/posting in other logs, so my time on here will probably suffer a bit; but, I'll try to make the most of it. Life is all about priorities and learning to prioritize.

I've had a few changes in my garden. First, most of my plants are now in ground rather than in buckets. Having them sitting out in the open was not really working for me, as I've had too much company of late. Prying eyes lead to questions, leading to lies - and, I don't like lying.

All of the remaining plants in the first batch are now in the ground near each other.

Pic 1 = Old School - really a beautiful plant;
Pic 2 = Colombian Red Haze - she's a very slow grower; and,
Pic 3 = Bubblelicious - appears male, but not fully developed yet.

All of the in-ground plants have gotten a full dose of Shultz 10-15-10 and Superthrive. They really seem to be enjoying the soil and nutes, as they have really taken off lately. Even the CRH seems to be growing much faster than she had in the bucket.

I hope you like the pics; they aren't the best. I hope to have better pics toward the end of the week.

Alright, so I basically combined my 2nd and 3rd Batches, as they were only 9 days apart. Also, I think I only have 2 plants left from my 3rd batch, having given away 1 NL, 1 LS; I also gave away 2 SSH. I needed to thin the herd!

All plants, with the exception of the Sour Creams, have made it into the ground.

Pic 1 = Lemon Skunk;
Pic 2 = NL - lost a leaf somehow; now is a bit lopsided (3rd Batch plant);
Pic 3 = NL - has really shot up;
Pic 4 = Sour Cream; and,
Pic 5 = 2nd Sour Cream.

I also still have a SSH that is a major runt, but I couldn't bring myself to pull it. And, I have 1 additional LS, but I forgot to take a picture of it - it's pretty well hidden.

Like I said above, these pictures are not the greatest, so I hope to have better pictures later. I was surprised I haven't updated the pictures in 9 days. I'm really getting behind.

Jake, In my day it was Lay's "Bet you can't eat just one"(G) I'm lucky in that while my husband plays on his boat and tinkers in the garage I can fuss over my 'hobby'. I agree the Bubblelicious does look to be male. They are all looking good.

I've been reading up on outdoor grows, particularly as it relates to the hot & arid climate I live in.

It will really be interesting to see how all of these turn out, as well as keeping up with those that found new homes. I've really tried to just check on them every few days, so I really notice the growth changes. They really have taken off since they made it into the ground; in fact, they're basically worry free now, with the exception of heavy rains knocking on them a bit more. It's really nice having such a fun hobby. I'm glad to hear your husband has his own hobbies to give him something cool to do while you are occupied. What does he think about your hobby? Or, is he tinkering around so much because he's enjoying the results of your hobby? Thanks for the input and kind words, luna!

I've been reading up on outdoor grows, particularly as it relates to the hot & arid climate I live in.

McT, I was just in your log, and almost mentioned my climate in response to one of your last posts. It's exceptionally hot and humid where I am. I'm not sure of how arid your location is, but I would guess as long as your plants are started/become adapted to the outdoors, they should become acclimated enough to survive. I agree with your comments, you should find a strain that grows well in your region. As hot and humid as it is here, the 3 - now 7 - strains that I have grown/am growing seem to be doing just fine, and I didn't bother to check into each strain's genetics.

Thanks for the response Jake. By arid, I mean 25 to 40% humidity until the monsoon season in August and September when the humidity will climb significantly higher with temps still hovering around 105 to 110 degrees.
