The water is really startin' to warm up, so I thought I'd finally jump in....

What we have here is my 3rd grow log which will hopefully lead me to a greater understanding of growing the green. I've learned a bit from my previous grows - mainly because I know how to fuck shit up and I learn the hard way. And, if it weren't for this great board and the kindness of its incredibly experienced members, I would never have gotten my hands dirty. Thanks to all of you!

The beans/seedlings/plants you will bear witness to herein are:

1st Batch
2 Bubblelicious
2 Old School - bagseed from bagweed that reminds me of my high school daze
1 PPP
1 Colombian Red Haze

2nd Batch
1 Lemon Skunk
1 Northern Lights
2 Sour Cream
3 Super Silver Haze

3rd Batch
2 Lemon Skunk
2 Northern Lights

Now, as you will notice, I screwed up my first batch pretty good when I sprayed them with an over-concentrated Neem Oil mix. The lower leaves look burned and disfigured. The spray turned many of the leaves white/transparent and stunted the crap out of 1 OS, the PPP, and the CRH. Like I said, I know how to tear shit up! But, the point is made, and I will read directions on how to properly mix any and all items that will contact my plants - Lesson Learned.

The plants began their lives soaked in water until they sank, thereafter finding themselves in an airy wet paper towel placed on a plate on top of my cable box. All popped tap roots in such manner, and the only casualties (1 LS and 1 NL only suffered because I can fuck shit up! - I pulled their caps off a bit early, resulting in the wilting of the cotyledons).

Once taproots showed, the beans were placed with taproots down in peat pellets with beans covered by a small amount of peat - about the depth of the width of the bean. Once roots began showing through the sides of the peat pellets, I placed/will place them in 20oz Silo cups. I poked 1 hole in the bottom of the cups with other drain holes poked around the bottom sides. All plants are in a soil mixture containing mainly Scott's Premium Soil, which is a very light and airy mulch-like mixture; I really like it so far. I've added about 1/4 more Perlite. The 1st Batch also enjoys a bit of added Vermiculite. And, when transplanting into the Silo cups I added/add a sprinkling of rooting hormone powder to aid in root development.

I have not broken down to purchase any really good nutrients - I need to, but will probably only do so when my conveniently purchased Lowe's/Home Depot available nutes are gone. I have for veg - Schultz Plant Food Plus with 10-15-10 percentages. My flower nutes are Green Light Super Bloom having percentages of 12-55-6.

I have followed the general rule of thumb of mixing nutes around 1/4 to 1/2 strength starting out, and work my way up to full strength - backing off and flushing if notice any ill effects. I really am looking forward to these nutes being gone, as I know my life will be much easier working with more cannabis-friendly nutes with real mixing/feeding schedules.

With all of that lengthy preamble out of the way, we join our log already in progress with pictures from yesterday - pictures to be posted below in add-on posts.
