May I remind many of you that Fundamentalists come in many shapes, colors and religions. America (and Canada) is full of Christian Fundamentalists. The Fundamentalists of the Middle East are a minority, the majority of people there had no beef with America. They were just trying to survive day to day life with a horribly oppresive government that America itself helped fund and support.
