Is it indoors or outdoors? If it is outdoors it is easy for seeds from weeds to get into your soil. It is also not uncommon for cheap soils to have seeds in them. I have found large rocks and tree bark in soil before. Unless the roots have entangled your roots they should be easy to just pull out.

    bobthepothead,

This seems like a perfect place to again mention.....sterilize your soil or grow media. Or buy sterile media. It does away with alot of pests both inscect and plant.

Aloha, Robert the Cannabis afficianado .

    No need to despair
    'snot a big problem.

If you lack the tiny garden tools.
You can rip that chickweed out by hand and let your ladies grow and prosper.
If you'd rather not disturb the soil, just cut them off at the base with a razor.
Most airborn weed seeds that start out deep green this time of year are chickweed.
    Not that it matters.
You didn't plant it there, you get to evict it.

    Aloha,
    Weezard
