Trying to get my card here in WA

    Hi there everyone:
I am new to posting and to this site. A lady from my pain management group dropped this site's name so now my journey is beginning. I have't been able to talk to anybody directly yet but have been told 2nd hand that I need $200.00 to get my medical card and for 62 days of the product. As far as getting my card and a Dr to sign, I think I might be able to do that this Wednesday. A pain mngmnt. clinic down here near Vancouver was giving out too many prescription drugs, was investigated and was closed down. Now, all the Doctors are getting flooded with new patients to get more meds. Even my regular doctors are too full to see old patients.
Happily a friend of my daughters gave me a little bit to try and it really helped my pain. 2 weeks I was in tears all the time with Lupus, fibromyalgia, sjorgren's, rheumatoid arthritis and swelling everywhere. I had to have help getting out of bed. The Doctor put me back on prednisone which helped some but the weed I tried really helped (esp with my pinched nerves in my spine thats hitting a cyst).
Can someone direct me what steps I should take now or what to be careful of? My sister has a friend in Rochester that gets 62 day supply but she is really nervous about people turning her in and is hesitant to offer much advice.
I would appreciate any info. There is a lot at this site but some people seem to have conflicting views and there is so many things to read up on, which I don't mind if it hurt so dang bad to sit at the computer. But only can sit for a bit at a time.

    Thanks killerweed420:

I will look into the Dr. I have been trying to read up at the links, but it sounds like on the posts some say stay away from certain places and others say they are a lot of help. I was really surprised that so many medical fields are believing in the benefits and coming around to it. Anything that makes the day go by faster without my body screaming will be so nice.

Going to a doctor isn't an issue here in Washington. Any doctor can prescribe if they want to. The issue is dipensaries for the cannabis. They're illegal here but they still operate here. No customer has ever been arrested using a dispensary yet.

Sorry Killerweed420: I submited when I didn't mean to with that last post. I was trying to say that I have emailed the addy's they have posted in http://thc-foundation.com/washington: NORML of South Puget Sound
1919 Loganberry St. SW Rochester and Columbia River NORML in Vancouver. I have received nothing by email yet. Are these the dispesaries? Someone my sister knows in Rochester is a MMJ patient and gets some cookies and things up there but is real paranoid about talking about such matters since the neighbors up where she lives all fight verbally with one another.
Do you get your recomendation and then THCF will tell you where go from there?:upsidedow

THC or any authorizing agency or doctor cannot tell you where you can get medicine. Any place that does is violating the law. If you know a medically authorized person who knows where to get your medicine go with that and stay away from the paranoia spreaders.

I would but she is paranoid too and is afraid her neighbors will turn her in. I see on some of the posts throughout the forums that some say they have a distributor list or medical list etc. I want to smoke to relieve chronic pain..24 hours a day chronic pain. I have a hard time focusing as I did have a mild stroke. Combine that with all my meds the researching is hard to interpret and wipes me out of my energy. Are THC and dispensaries the same thing?

They're fairly hard to get ahold of period. THCF isn't a dispensary. They sign the authorization for your MMJ. Its really best if you can grow your own here in Washington. There are a couple dispensaries around but they operate in gray area.

~lol~ well I think with all the high Schoolers around here, the neighborhood might get quickly educated about my horrific small yard suddenly transforming into something green.
Anyway, went to my new Dr today and he didn't sound very excited about giving me much info, but instead changed my meds from hydrocodone and morphene to Methadone. He said it would take the spaciness and zone outs from taking place. Kinda upset me cuz I didn't think I was THAT spacey. *L ouch. He then gave me the new prescription and said he would talk to "someone" to find out a little more. He also stated he would rather me grow my own, because I have to be careful of germs and staph. He said growing would insure no pesticides and less of others touching.

So wish me luck, I am pretty sure he will sign or send me to a Dr that will sign recommendation. Now, I gotta check into forums that talk about the seeds and how you can grow a tiny amount in the garage or attic.
