Whats wrong with my babies? Help please.

Know your water ph before adjusting it. If necessary, you'll need one or the other...not both. But, I use Phosphoric acid for ph down. (phDown by General Hydroponics) One gallon lasts about two years, and is safe to use. (the ladies love the stuff)

Take a sample of your water in a clean jar to an aquarium store, and ask them to test the ph. (or buy one of the freshwater aquarium ph test kits for under $10)

The plants are hungry. The nutes in pre-ferted soil mixes don't last all that long, especially in seedling mixes. What are you using for nutes? Whatever it is...go half strength for first couple of feedings, increasing as plants get larger.

The larger plants will need a better foothold as they grow, and the seedling mix doesn't offer enough support to a larger plant. (too fine of a medium) When you next transplant...don't use the seedling mix.

Thanks! All transplanted plants have been transplanted to MG organic choice potting mix.

I was considering transplanting the last two with Seedling starter but i wont be now.

Im serously thinking its the bottled water at this point.

Is there any problem with boiling tap water to take care of chlorine? SWIM wants to transplant today but just say his tap water out this mourning. He already gave it a quick boil and intends to let it sit out overnite just incase.

BTW can anyone suggest a good veg nute thats easily purchased at like hhome depot? SWIM has AN(advanced nutrients) nutes for flowering, but forgot his veg nutes back in Califonina

Try filling a 5 gallon bucket with water, and let it sit uncovered overnight. Since chlorine is a gas, it should evaporate, and you'll not smell the chlorine any more.

If all else fails...Miracle Grow All Purpose is workable for veg, but I'd recommend Fox Farms, Botanicare, or General hydroponics for your nutes. I've used all four of these, and each work with a little tweaking of schedules and dilution rates.

as Rusty said, the chlorine pretty much evaporates overnight, boiling is an unnecessary hassle ... if in a hurry, you can drop an airstone in the water, dissipates it faster ... chlorine doesn't hurt the plant itself, but it does kill beneficial bacteria in the medium ... good luck :smokin:

SWIM got a few things at a hydroponic store, PH test kit and everything.

He fed his plants and adjusted PH as nessasry, and all is doing well!

Giving them nutes was the correct answer my problem FYI... Kuddos
