    Abnormal Growth

I've have a Master and Purple Kush clone that were both on the verge of root rot death, but I have nursed them back to health over the course of the past couple months. I had them both on a 16/8 light schedule while I battled the rot but I switched to 24 hours about 2 weeks ago. The Master Kush is now a big green healthy monster, but the Purple Kush is starting to have really weird looking growth. Both have developed thick white root systems, but the leaves on the Purple are shaped really weird and have a weird texture, and some of them even have trichomes on them some how. :wtf:

Can anyone tell me what is going on here? First two pics are the Purple, the third is the Master. These plants were taken as cuttings and rooted on the same day, and then both had their roots rotted off but they have grown back healthily.

Oh, both are in DWC with RO water at about 700 PPM of Botanicare PBP and GroTek CalMax, 5.5-5.9 pH, 68 degree water temps, and 74-80 degree air temps.

Mutations are not abnormal when plants are put under stress, as far as the trichomes on leaves why would you think that's abnormal?

    Abnormal Growth

Thanks pete. I guess I see the trichs as abnormal because the plant is in veg and also because the trichs are on the big fan leaves. I have never gotten trichs in veg, and have never had them on the fan leaves even in flower. Anyways, thanks for the feedback, and hopefully after being in a more stable environment, the growth will return to normal.

    Abnormal Growth

Happens often with some clones and a lot of re-veggers. Normal growth returns about two weeks after stress has been relieved.

Personally, after a root trim (bonsai or re-veg) or cloning, I keep the ladies under 18/6 (maximum) till the roots heal, and resume normal growth. But then again...I veg under 18/6 with the belief that the roots work more during darkness, and the foliage works during lights-on. Possibly an old wives tale, but nothing relevant I've seen on the subject tells me otherwise.

Early trichs...? Have there been any changes in your lighting spectrums or schedules? Could just be a stress-induced event...but I'd watch for what kind of pre-flowers you start seeing. (calyx's or nanners)
