My weed WONT flower

Hey I'm new here just decided to try my first grow I live in NZ so we have primo soil and sun for growing anyway I've got my plant in a 8 litre bucket growing in the window in my room it's got to about 5ft tall and has two cocalas or whatever the hell they are growing I've tried inducing bud but it just KEEPS growing soon its gonna be reaching my f**kin roof can anyone point me in the right direction?

dude you need 12 hrs light 12 hrs of total darkness!!! and i do mean TOTAL DARKNESS NO LIGHT WHAT SO EVER!!!! you can go 8 hrs light 16 hrs darkness will gettem to go into flowering. but no light during sleep time u said its in your room what do u mean is it in a closet or in a corner of your room????? even a light turned on then off right away is too much no light what so ever!!!!! just trying to make a point !!!!! are u using a timer ???? ill check back weds pm and if u got any more questions i will try to answere them 4 you :stoned:

Mint dude you rock obviously just doing a hobby grow see how it goes then gonna invest in the equipment and stuff. I'm now just gonna shove it in a closet for 12 hours a day :P with a light nah i just set an alarm instead of a timer soooooo how big do you think it'll get round abouts and would I be better off not forcing it to bud and just letting it do its thing?? (p.s smells better than most hydro I know of making me VEEERRRRYYY happy)

If you are using sunlight it will flower on it's own when the light reaches 12/12 daylight waning. The autumnal equinox IOW. You guys are coming up on [s]summer[/s] solstice next I think, *edit* you're coming up on winter solstice *edit* so it should be flowering already if you are using sunlight only. I predict a fail here, if you haven't done enough reading up to know that the photoperiod determines flowering in non-auto strains. READ READ READ it's your only hope.

If it is in your window, does she receive artificial light during the night time from you being in the room?

if so that plant still thinks it is summer. In the southern hemisphere your daylight periods are now to short to flower properly so you need to transplant her to a 20 liter bucket. buy a timer, get a bunch of CFL's or even better a HPS and put her in a closet and set the timer to 12/12, then in about 2 months you should have some nice buds.

Made myself a little grow room probably will fail miserably but thats what the first times about Im not tooooo stressed about it yeah I've been reading solidly for about two months now took me ages to work this site though

I got the set up as follow 3ft by 3ft about 2m tall NO light getting in got me a timer and an hmps lamp and a tiny ass fan so heres hoping, I dont even know what type im growing its all a fuckin mystery, its either ak47, white rhino, or bubblegum doooonnn't think its one of the white strains though. Cheers heaps for all the advice just one more question how much yield do u think I'll have going on and how big will it get? its about 5'5 now.:rastasmoke: happy happy day this forum has been the most useful information i've found on the net u guys all rock!!!

You want around 4000-5000 lumens a sq. foot you have 9 sq. feet. A 400w hps puts out around 50000 lumens so a 400w hps will put you at a lil over 5k lumens a sq. foot. Height does not matter to much to the light factor. It does matter in ventilation so a 3x3x6 box will = 54 cubic feet. just example so you would want at least a 165cfm fan maybe a lil bigger for your exhaust. And usually your plant ill double in size by the end of flowering sometimes even triple. Hope that helps you alil bit:jointsmile:

i want to flower outdoor marijuana earlier than the sun will naturally allow because i live in a place where it gets cold very soon after the day and nite reaches 12 hours so im making adequate time for my plants to fully ripen before it getts too cold. my question is does it harm the plants at all to introduce them emidiatly to 6 hours light and 18 hours dark to make them sex or is it better to introduce them to 12/12 and why? i want them to begin flowering as soon as posible so i can give them the full day of sun again to work on there buds. i will only give them all day of light again after they are well into budding to avoid them changing back. i want them to flower fast but i also want as much yield and quality as i can. if i cant have both i will have to choose. pls answer this question for me if anyone can thank you.

In order to have it bud you have to change the time of light and darkness. I'm not sure what you mean by inducing budding. Its just like growing outside there is spring, summer,fall each season has different time of light and darkness. After you change the time to 12 hrs of darkness and 12 hours of light should start budding depending on what kind of cannabis it is, should take 45 days or 60 days be patient don't pick early:smokin: peace out. One more thing fall doesn't start until September 22 or so. depending where you are on this planet
