President Obama at Virtual Town Hall on Legalizing Marijuana (what a dumb question)
At President Obama's March 26, 2009 virtual town hall meeting, Obama addresses whether the legalization of marijuana will improve the economy.
The question should've been...Will legalizing marijuana SAVE MONEY FOR THE GOVERNMENT?... not IMPROVE THE ECONOMY.
We would've got a much better answer.
What a dumb question, they set themselves up for failure with that one...he's response was, "No I don't think that is a good strategy to grow the economy"
Of course, that is not a good strategy to grow the economy, the economy is in much worse shape to be fixed by just legalizing marijuana.

President Obama at Virtual Town Hall on Legalizing Marijuana (what a dumb question)
That is true, actually. Politics go hand in hand with law, and law is just very specific outlines of restrictions and shit. If we want to make a real impression, we need to ask the right questions to get the words we want to hear, you know, we need to speak their language. That happens before we get the satisfaction of having righteous words crossing our representatives lips.

President Obama at Virtual Town Hall on Legalizing Marijuana (what a dumb question)
Actually legalizing weed would have a positive impact upon the economy in addition to lowering government expenditure. The government estimates that roughly $10 billion dollars is spent on mj a year, creating a billion dollar industry would improve the economy and create jobs.

President Obama at Virtual Town Hall on Legalizing Marijuana (what a dumb question)
Actually you're in fact wrong. Savings in government expenditure and tax revenue are two entirely different things. For California, they estimated 1 billion in tax revenue and with the rest of the money coming in government savings and other spinoff industries.
