I'm a little curious... my grow isn;t that far along yet... but, how did you determine you needed to transplant up to a 5gal pot with a plant thats roughly 1 foot tall?

i thought i had read here somewhere that the general rule of thumb is about 1 gal per 1 foot of plant? I realize that this is just like a benchmark type rule and there is lots of flexibility in it... it just seems to me that the 3gal pot was probably already pretty large for it?
