can anyone tell me how legalization works?

well since i've been layed off i've been constantly thinking about the legalization, taxing and regulating of marijuana. the only thing is i dont understand how it would work. this is what i think and would like someone smarter than me to correct my incorrections.

well i want to grow cannabis for sale or personal. so i go to the place, whatever place it would be, to buy a permit to grow. i would grow my stuff and from the sales i make i pay taxes on that. or would i pay taxes for all the harvest amount then sales tax? am i correct on this or way off?

if this is the way it would be i may have found my calling. my mom always said to do what makes me happy and that would. then all i'm doing is waiting for the people in congress and white house to wake up to legalization. am i wrong or is there more to legalization than that?

A lot more taxes than that, Business licenses, site aproval fees, self employement tax, B&O tax if you live in one of the states that still has it. This is why its so difficult for a small business to make good in this country. They tax the holy dogshit out of you from day one.
