I know they do use FLIR without a warrant, and they have to make up some other kind of excuse for a search. But check the 2001 decision by the U.S. Supreme Court in Kyllo v. United States.

That's why I don't understand having such a system built into the car. It is almost like a guarantee of the officer violating the constitutional rights of the slavizen. They're not normally so open about breaking the law. But these days I guess they don't even feel the need to cover their butts. After all, when they get sued who gets to pay their legal fees? It's not out of their own pockets or the department budgets for damn sure. It is paid for by you and me. I'm about sick of this country.
