Nothing like prefishing for a tournament stoned. I'll be working my topwater bait and get into a dayz and i'll pause and bam bass ate my Vixen. Best sport to do when high.

I can see the appeal, i tryd it once with my grandpa on a trip in NH. However, on these issues, such as fishing and hunting, i don't see how one can justify 'relaxing' when they're killing or harming defenseless animals. Sure there's a lot of fish in the sea, but does this mean you have to kill them? They're not a threat. I like cod but that's about it..
I eat meat so maybe this line of argument is hypocritical. I don't kill or harm tho. Spending time with your son is important but you can easily do it without harming animals.

fish care is very important to me, i've spent £2000+ on my set up and i allways have the care of the fish as my main priority, i use rigs that are easy for the carp to eject if i get snapped up, i use a very large very padded mat for unhooking the fish and have special fish antiseptic for any fish i catch that have any sort of cut or infection, experts say that carp have no feeling in their bottom lip(this i don't know as a fish can't tell you) but with a good rig you 99% hook the bottom lip, the fish are allways treeted with care and returned as soon as possible to avoid any stress. but if i'm sea fishing for bass when i catch a fish it is hit hard seferal times on the top of the head to kill it, a much more humane way to kill the fish than just throwing it in a box and left to die like the trawler fisherman do, but maybe i'm a hypocrite as i love animals and wouldn't want to harm them unnessary, but i do think the fish are not hurt or stressed by the way i fish for them:thumbsup:

Cows and deer both have pretty brown eyes, and the meat of both are delicious if properly prepared. I don't want to get in an argument about animal rights, but for myself and many others a day afield or on the water is a very primal experience that is extremely relaxing and enjoyable.

I can appreciate that taking life in this manner does not appeal to you but responsible sportsmen were really the first conservationist who realized that seasons and bag limits had to exist in order for there to be a sustainable harvest of fish and gama, as well as conservation of the land and the water. Aldo Leopold and Teddy Roosevelt were promoting land conservation 100 years ago because their intimate relationship with the land gave them first hand knowledge of the correlation between the health of the land and the health of wildlife.

I am an x poacher and i do not think it is wrong to kill as long as you do it for the pot and respect the animal or fish that you catch, I fed my family for many years on food we would not have been able to afford from a shop, its called survival :stoned:

i totally agree as long as it's for the pot it's all good, much better than alot of farmed meat/fish you get from the supermarkets that are kept in squalid cramped conditions before being slaughterd.

I do all the above mentioned outdoor things and am a part of the circle of life.
I see no difference in chopping down a perfectly fine hemp plant or catching a beautiful lake trout for my family to consume. It is a very fine and personal/philosophical line in the sand that has been debated for a long time. I suppose it shall always be that way, a personal choice and one that should be respected.

All I got to say is I go catfishing about every weekend and nothing thrills me more than hearing that bait caster hum when a big channel cat grabs the squid....Also there is nothing like catching that son of a bi**h and bringing him directly home to fillet and fry into nuggets! Weedmaster what do you use for carp bait?

i mainly use boilies useally 18mm kg1 over a well baited (spodded out)area of particle mix, the mix consists of bird food, hemp,rice pudding or condensed milk, cat food, chilli powder, tuna in brine and salt. if you use bird food and hemp it must be prepared otherwise it will swell up in the fish's stomache. to prepare it,(bird food) soak in water for 12 hours than boil for 15 mins for hemp soak in water untill the hemp splits useally about 24hours then boil for 30 mins. the milk or tinned rice pudding makes the water cloud up which attracts them, alot of people don't know but carp love salt but not too much. other baits that work well is cheese, lunheon meat and any spicey sausage.i don't useally tell people what i put in my mix so any carp anglers in the uk please dont advertise my mix and let everyone know about the salt (even though some of the top carpers know this), you need to be one step ahead of everyone else on the lake and a little bit of salt can give you the edge over everyone else.and one last tip is use pigeon conditioner but make sure you prepare it in a small pva bag, that is one tip you don't want to share. i know of some other great mixes and bait but i'm sorry i'm not going to tell all my little secrets

i enoy smoking a J then wading in the water with my fly-rod catching them trout....very very good times.......i can do it all day and not get bored...mainly because fishing is my #1 hobby.....trout trout baby jump right in jump right out<<<the phrase my brother who recently paased away always said....since i was a kid fishing with him....ahhh memories
