drug test procedure varies from employer to employer

at the temp agency i went to... after the interview they took me to the bathroom, had me give a sample and tested it right in front of me with one of those cup tests similiar to what you can buy at the store. they also do this a lot at fast food or grocery/department stores.

other places contract out with a lab and after your interview, hand you a "chain of custody" form and instruct you to go to the lab to do your drug test. we can check online whether or not a new hire has passed.

How long after you took the test did you get notice that you failed and from who? Did you get a call from your employer or the lab that tested you?
