firearms and growing ? ? ? ? ?
I know this post is a bit old, it seems to be built on a lot of speculation. One thing though that I would not speculate about is this; I would rather have my weapons in my home than in a storage unit. In a storage unit your weapon, for which you are legally responsible, is outside of your direct control. In your home it is under your control, at least in principle. Provided that your weapons are secured and, as mentioned before, you don't take them to the door with you when the cops knock, it shouldn't be a big deal in most states. Even so, growing does have inherent risks, and while keeping a weapon on site increases that risk it does so in a way that I control to a certain degree. Keeping a weapon in a storage locker takes that control away and potentially exposes me to additional risks. Storage lockers aren't the most secure places in the world, while many states have laws that increase criminal liability when a gun is present in certain crimes, nearly all states have VERY harsh penalties for gun related criminal negligence.
