Should I harvest one of my girls early?
If you all look at the thread "First Timer with regular Ol seeds" you will see that one of my girls has been yellowing... I've been flushing her with fresh water all week, but it looks like she may be a goner. I see that she had a little growth spurt and her cola filled out. The pistils are starting to turn red ( about 15%) of them are red now and with my stereoscopic microscope - I see the Trichs are about 60% Clear, 30% cloudy and the remaining 10% are amber.
The others - which all came from the same bagseed, are nowhere near as "cooked" and I don't know why. Some are taller than this girl, some have more bud growth - but its clear that she's dying. Should I harvest her now? Should I wait as long as possible? The rest I believe I will be harvesting on the week of May 8...
What do you guys think happened? Same lights, same nutes, same watering schedule...I dont get it...StoneGarden Reviewed by StoneGarden on . Should I harvest one of my girls early? Sounds like its about time to harvest. The yellowing is normal at the end.

killer's right, it sounds like that plant is ready for harvest. can you post a pic?
keep in mind that each plant is an individual and so will grow at it's own pace,
so, even though the seeds came from the same sack, the plants that grow from
them can vary widely in the way they grow.
even seeds that you buy can vary greatly although they are much more likely to
be uniform than bagseeds.
heres one of mine just about ready for harvest. (lol, a bagseed plant)

If you need anybody to take that for a 'test drive'?...I'm your driver...

that double stacked pot?...did you do that from the beginning or later?
(must spread +rep around, before hitting bozo again...

I usually harvest at 5% amber...:thumbsup:Trichs are about 60% Clear, 30% cloudy and the remaining 10% are amber.

you know how it is my friend, the more you grow, the more you learn and the

Hey bozo!
I've read a LOT of your posts... I especially liked the "under the stairs" setup!
Anywho... I have a plant that is thought to be a sativa dom, grown in soil, that I feel is getting close to harvest as most of the fan leaves have turned mostly yellow and crispi (had to.... had to....). In the pictures that you posted, what do the trichs look like? Are you shooting for the more head or body stoned effect?
At the moment, if I clip and quick dry (nuke) a bud, it has a strong calming effect on me, and I know this will be amplified when properly dried and cured. I want the STRONGEST effects from this plant, so I thought I would harvest when most of the trichs were still clear. My buds haven't fattened up...
I noticed that almost ALL of your leaves have yellowed and crisped up...
All of the fan leaves are gone, and most of the secondary growth's leaves are fryin.... is that typical? My previous harvests have all synced up- the thrichome color and fan leaves disappearing at the same time...
What's your take? I don't have any pictures I can post at the moment...

if you haven't got a hand-held microscope you need to get one. here is a link
to Amazon which carries more than one model, personally, i'd suggest the 30X
as anything stronger than that is very hard to use. (i've included a pic of mine)
Amazon.com: handheld microscope
if you harvest early (while most trichs are still clear) you will get weed with

lol, don't go by me man, i'm no expert, i'm just persistent. anyway, those plants

So yeah, I harvested that girl, yesterday- got her drying in the rack now, and wouldnt ya know it - another one is starting to yellow as well! Im keeping a close eye on the Trichs - I have a great microscope! Stereoscopic - up to 300 power. I harvested the first one at about 10% Amber Trichs - about 25% of the pistils are red. As the others reach the same level of maturity I'll be harvesting them - one at a time instead of all at once, which is somehow what I had envisioned. Am I doing it right?
