Madsci.org Article:Re: What are the hamful effects of marijuana?

Regardless of how conclusive the study is, let's take it at face value....
...It states that low doses may produce drowsiness, and high doses may actually shorten the duration of the REM sleep period.

I am curious:

1. which of the cannabinoids or constituents in resin glands is/are responsible ?
2. how high of a dose of this/these cannabinoids is needed to produce this undesirable effect ?

If we can isolate which compound produces this effect, we can then study the temperature at which it vaporizes, and hope that it is above 392*F....

Vaporization solves all problems related to combustion, and discovering which cannabinoid is responsible for decreasing REM duration at high doses, would be one more significant hurdle in perfecting our responsible use of this wonderful plant in a medical context.

Any comments, discussion, or information GREATLY appreciated.
Peace.
