Flushed with 6.4 PH Water - Run off in between 5.7-5.9...do I have Ph problem?
Using sunshine#4 which is soiless.
my run off is coming out at 5.9-6.0
what should my run off be if things are correct?
my plants are absolutely fucking retarded, three pointed blades... new growth coming out chewed up... curling, started with what look liked burn but i'm now excluding burn as a possible cause.
could it just be a disease my plants have? my mothers wern't extremely healthy when i took the clones, but they all rooted fine so i figured things might be alright.
should i just start over? i have a strain from a friend in there as well and it looks as tho the early signs of whatever the hell is going on is starting in with them... jsut a bit of canoo-ing on the leaves etc
let me know whtat you guys think of the pH and i can post some pictures in the next day or so.razzapiggy Reviewed by razzapiggy on . I'm not a big fan of testing runoff. Number one is no one seems to know the correct way to measure it. The best method can be found on Canna brochures or go to their web site. But even they say it's a waste of time.

Razza: I'd take the pen down to a local aquarium shop, and ask if they can compare your ph pen to theirs. (tell 'em your girlfriend sent you, and you have no clue what fish she keeps) This will give you a general idea of how far off your pen might be, so you can make adjustments in your growroom if need be.
Are you using fresh soil? Are you keeping soil moist? (too moist?) Are you spraying them with anything? What's the indicated water ph going-in?

I've noticed different mediums produce different readings and unless you're using the method Canna recommends to test for ph I doubt we're that accurate with most methods used. I once went through hell over analyzing runoff and in the end it really didn't matter. I've flushed plants with 8.0 water and had runoff measure 5.8. I've flushed plants with 7.0 and 6.0 also with no big diff. in runoff ph. Once in a while I'll measure the EC of the runoff but only if I see symptoms worth investigating.

As every liquid has a ph, and the ph pen is designed to test all forms of liquids for it's ph, I'm having a difficult time believing someone would dispute the pen and it's results. I have found mine rather accurate for both my coral (saltwater) aquarium and my growroom.
Perhaps you're refering to the soil probes which are, regardless of manufacturer, garbage. If not, I'd like to take a look at that Canna link. Mind posting it?
