sweet! good investment warfrat! you can pick up a pH kit for an aquarium (freshwater) at petco or the like for ~$6. and then you can get some pH up/down for ~$3 each.

it made a huge difference to me. my water out of the tap was over 8! yikes.

depneding on your water's pH, you might have a nute lockout. you want to aim for somewhere between 6.3 - 6.8.

    now get some work done!

    Another week or so on...

here's the topped one. A bunch of the lower leaves turned yellow and fell off. I bought a pH test kit, but it's not very accurate. But from what I can tell it's right in range in the high 6s. I flushed it twice a few days apart and gave it a light feeding with Veg nutes to hopefully address what appeared to be late flower N deficiency. It seems to be doing a bit better and the leaves have darkened/perked up a bit.

This is the one that I almost killed re-potting it early in its life. It started flowering about three weeks later than the others without proper vegging. It shot right up and caught the other un-topped plant, and is now hands down the frostiest of the three. I've read that stress can increase resin production, I wonder if that's what's going on here.

Here's the other un-topped plant. Still looking good. It's been on the same schedule as the ragged looking topped one but seems to be responding much better and is much healthier.

    The whole thing:

Right now the Trichs are about 25/75 Clear/Cloudy. I just gave it a light feeding hoping to fatten the buds up a bit in the last couple of weeks here. Any sense on when I should switch back to just water for the harvest, best guess I'm still around two weeks out. Any input?

Hard to say Shake. As this is my first go round and they're unknown seeds I have no real idea. I'm planning on harvesting early in the window, maybe 75/25 cloudy/amber to increase the head high/up quality of the smoke. But I don't know how long it'll take them to go from the 25/75 clear/cloudy to the 75/25 cloudy/amber that I'm looking for. Just going to play it by ear (by which I mean microscope) for now.

yeah. my bad warfrat. i didn't see the bottom of the post where you had put that info. and i was just asking about a general time frame, but you answered that with the unkown first grow part.

checkin the trichromes is the only way to go though.

how long have they been flowering for?

My record keeping isn't great. But, it was probably the second week in April, since I started the log on the 19th and said it had been in flower for 2 weeks (but when I thought about it later figured it had probably only been 9-10 days). So that puts us at about right about 7 weeks (amazing how much longer it feels). So I'm thinking my two week guess has got to be pretty close. In which case today's feeding should maybe be the last.

    June 1st update.

First, the grils in their closet. I'm still planning on moving things to the basement, but the project ended up being a bit bigger than I thought. There's a little girl there on the bottom left, been basically under 12/12 since germination because... well, I don't know (but not getting enough light way down there). The two tallest plants are about 22". I finally found something to do with some old video tapes (prop up the topped plant of course...)

Here's the topped plant again. Looking all sorts of ragged. I'm going to fill out a trouble shooting form in another thread just to rule out the possibility that there's something wrong other than standard late flower N deficiency. As of yesterday the trichs were nearly all cloudy.

One of the top colas, about 3-3 1/2":
