Shall i switch from the 2700k CFL's to the 6500k's?

Is it important to use the 6500k CFL's as opposed to the 2700k's that i have been using?The plants (3) are gonna be a month old on the 24th of this month? Thanks in advance as always. :thumbsup:

6500K is in the blue end of the light spectrum where as 2700K falls on the red end of the spectrum.

the 6500K "blue" (daylight CFLs) are better suited for veg and 2700K "red" (soft CFLs) for bloom.

most actually prefer a 75/25 split. this is applicible for flower or bloom.

will this hurt your plants, no. it just won't be optimum.

Thank you very much my friend. It looks like i will be picking up some of the 6500's 2morrow or sometime during the week. I decided to go with the biggest plastic tub box(Rubbermaid) that i could find and painted the inside with satin white plastic spray paint. I know that everyone recommends using flat white, but i was unable to locate it at the store so i went with what they had. Will there be a noticibale difference between the flat white and the satin white that i purchased?

i doubt it... its not like painting the inside is going to make a *huge* difference to begin with... it will make a small difference as white reflects all the lightwaves in the visible spectrum (hence why it appears as white), but not a whole ton of that reflected light is eventually going to make it to your plants... the majority off it will just keep bouncing off the walls and a little more and more will get absorbed and converted into heat every time, only a small portion of the reflected light will be lucky enough to make it to the plants sadly!

so considering how much gets lost anyways even with it white, I can't imagine your going to notice a difference with such a tiny detail

Alright thanks, I appreciate that. It gives me piece of mind. With all the opinions and different methods that people post on all the forums it can make a first time grower go mad. lol. I personally enjoy watching the growth of all different kinds of plants, but with the cannabis you really have to pay attention to detail i noticed. It's cool though since the final product is appreciated. The fruits of your labor you could say One last question here: What constitutes the start of the plant going into its vegitative stage? Thanks.:thumbsup:

the plant starts pretty much in the veg stage. it starts as a seedling or a clone and goes all the way up 'til you decide to flower the plant (by putting it on a 12/12 light cylce).

so as long as you haven't put it into flower then it's in veg.

hehe, I hear you... thats really what got me started... the more i kept reading about growing it, all the different techniques, and how you can interact with the growth to such detail is what really made me want to give it a try... don;t get me wrong, I want the final product for myself, but I find the whole process of the grow very interesting... i don;t think I would of had the desire to do it if all i had to do was drop a seed in a pot and come back 4 months later... just wouldn;t hold my interest :thumbsup:
