Well most in the know say fem seeds are not as strong as regular but there is a big advantage. You know what they are and not wasting time to proof. Fem beans I have had are redbud skunk, strawberry cough, and just started Northern lights. I can not tell the difference and they make great mothers. If your in a hurry it's worth the money to buy all fem from the start. If you can not keep mothers.

    Wrong.

Doesn't matter what femmed strain you go for, as long as the breeder followed proper femming procedures. I've seen some 'breeders' get a genetic (unforced) hermie, and sell the resultant beans as 'femmed'.

But if you haven't grown cannabis before, I'd practice with bagseed or the cheaper 'normal' seeds. An extremely high pricetag does not gurantee you'll succeed with femmed seeds.

Sorry, I don't mean to mislead. I have had good results with femm's I mentioned , not that thier the top. I had been told and read on here a few times that they were weaker seeds. Now I know better but what seed company can you trust for femm's.

I thought I made a femmed plant awhile back but it was a hermie and not nanners.

Thanks, Rusty. That's what I like here. The truth will out. Yes ?

I'm going to get a camera today to show pic's of my mother papaya today. Will post in the hydro section. She is in a tron and looks beat up but I can't stop the growth. Wish I had more bro's that I could trust to do hydro near me. One bro has killed the last 30 I cut and rooted.

Thanks again, each day I make my mind as a blank page for the day to write it's lessons upon. When we stop learning, we stop living.

You thought you had a fem that hermied and used the self pollinated seeds right? Thinking that the fem was stressed then hermied correct?
I had a friend that got some of the green house fem's that are color coated and the stealthy package they came in broke the protective coating off. I never asked her if the seeds worked I will ask next time. She said the coating was not a hard candy shell but a paper mache coating.
Why would the fem seeds be less potent? arnt they a inbread of its self, a chosen strong female?

Has anyone used those Paradise or Greenhouse color coated fems? Sounds cool

Do a search. A femm seed comes from a female plant that is stressed into making male nanners not the regular hermie. I maybe wrong but a hermie has both sets male and female RNA like our DNA. A true femm has only female RNA and the seeds can only be female. Not less potent, some think a weak phenotype. I know dif now.

yes I know, I was curious to know if he used a genetic hermi, which sounds like what happened. I seen it happen in the wild, a friend thought he stressed the female and it hermied he moved the pheno to a segregated area, but in the end all the seeds were hermied. He never stressed the plant the plant was just a natural hermi. Since then I have instructed him on properly stressing a female for self pollination, he says he has gotten the procedure to work once out of about 5 tries. So I suggested getting more stable strains, even if it means back crossing and recrossing for stability in his strain. I think that is what he is trying now, he made a really nice hash strain, I hope he stabilizes it. I wanted him to imbreed those phenos that are wanted, but he had trouble with that too.
