A question about Civil Disobedience
I like the way Harvey Milk did it. Got everyone who was gay to tell their family. That way when a bill came around or when a conversation was sparked, that persons family would be on the correct side.
So this can easily be applied to our cause too!
Everyone in my immediate and extended family(cousins, aunties etc.) knows I smoke occasionally and know my views on the matter. Only ONE of them thinks pot is really bad but he still thinks drugs should be legal "so they can destroy themselves". Yeah his reasons are fucked but at least he think it should be legal!luciddreamer Reviewed by luciddreamer on . A question about Civil Disobedience Why wouldn't activists simply declare a day where they go out and disobey the law openly? Many speak as if they are oppressed by the criminalization of cannabis, however the obvious choice to me seems to be the tactics that activists like Martin Luther King Jr. learned from Ghandi. Why don't people who feel the criminalization of cannabis is oppression of their liberty simply gather and disobey this in a civil manner? Rating: 5

A question about Civil Disobedience
I still think there should be a national day of protest in the US, as a way of gaining more attention, and that there should be a large demonstration at the Mall in DC.

Protests in america dont do anything. You need a more aggressive approach, but non violent. Unless of course your being opressed by a totalatarian government.

This is childish and idiotic. Do not inconvenience -anyone- while doing civil disobedience or any activism for -any- cause whatsoever. I cannot state this strongly enough.
