how deep are your pots ive noticed slower growth as my roots bottom out and different strains have different above to below ground ratios

    pics?
phatsesh101 Reviewed by phatsesh101 on . This makes no sense ........... I have had 5 plants under a 400w MH bulb for almost 2 weeks now and they are green as hell and have nice big, fat leaves but they dont seem to be getting taller. A few grows ago when all I had was an HPS bulb I didnt seem to notice this type of behavior so I guess my question would be does an MH bulb slow down vertical growth??? At the rate they are going I'll be retired before I can clone them lol (but really crying :( ) Rating: 5

First off we all need to play nice, we are all here for the same frigging thing ..... to grow and help others grow the best smoke we can so we can enjoy life just a lil bit more. I have been reading these boards for quite some time now and I read them twice daily, my girlfriend will vouch for this as she sits and watches me read hehe. lets all just ease up and enjoy.... /rant off

Now then I took the pics and raised the light a foot so it is now 3ft from top off plants (ty Loc :thumbsup
as for pots ... no gots I do E&F hydro and those are 4" RW cubes that they are sitting in so you have an idea of size. they will be 4 weeks old friday the 17th, using LW recipe for GH 3part so atm they are getting 5/5/5 ml per gallon (micro/grow/bloom) and 1 drop Superthrive per gallon. PH is 6.0

Please...by all means...point out where you answered the original posted question regarding MH and stretch, instead of dancing around the spectrum...? (I don't see it either)

You seem somewhat level-headed in other posts. But I'd seriously recommend you avoid getting into another members' med intake, as it's none of you business. Period. As a matter of fact, infractions have been dealt-out for this in the past.
Bummer to see a newbie get all prissy and accusatory, but regardless...it wasn't Lit-up that took a tangent.

MH in flower can restrict stretch, but I've never seen it restrict stretch in veg, unless it's too close. MH bulbs seem to burn hotter, so might need to be kept a tad higher.

Tiny: did you switch ballasts/lights in the midle of the grow cycle? Might be that the plants are growing accustomed to the new colors, and should likely resume 'normal' growth soon.

Have you tried side-lighting supplimentals to give the side-shoots (future clones) something to aim for? (CFL's work fine for this)

Hey Mr. Clandestine, long time no see. Wazzzup?

I'll definitely second this. Very cost efficient way to add some extra lights without adding too much extra heat.

Nada mucho, my friend! About to get started on a new project, and what better place than Cann.com to get the inspiration flowing again. Glad to see you're all doing well!

In your thread about 3 weeks ago, you state that you bought a HPS for veg. Just thought you had a hard-on for them.

You just keep asking your questions and I'll keep answering them.

Sorry I DO medicate for medical reasons. You wanna come at me about my meds. Your just using to get high.

Rusty, no i didnt switch. as soon as they sprouted they were under a couple of 6500k cfl's until they were big enough for the 4" blocks and the E&F tray with the 400w bulb. I raised it last nite about a foot so now about 36" from top of plants and they might have actually grown a lil, hard to tell after 1 day but will tell for sure by end of weekend.

    Lit, sorry for the harrasment

It's fine Tiny, he obviously took offense when I intended no offense.

I think that you will decide what you are comfortable with.

Sounds good man. Glad to help. I just got most of my bro's papaya up to 12 inches and have brought the light back down to 2 feet and the branches are starting to come out now. They are in 3rd week of veg and will be ready before the end of the month. I might move the light up and down 1 or 2 more times to get the desired affect without topping. I just like that main cola but I get some good branching too.
