A while ago I ordered brainstorm seeds (haze x northern lights #5) and I've had some serious germination problems for reason I can't quite figure out. I had no problem producing a taproot by using my usual methods (in darkness soaking in a cup of water then to a dvd case layered with wet napkins) however my real issue was actually having the seeds pop from the dirt. After I had planted them for days nothing happened and I became concerned. I'd like to point out I've done this before with about 90 percent germination almost always. I tried helping them by moving some of the top soil out of the way and things like that but it didn't help much. Only 2 of the 7 seeds that had been planted popped healthy seedlings (which are just beginning their 3 fingered leaves). The other couple that did eventually sprout all had extremely minimal growth, most like stunted too. By the way the temperature has been maintained at 84 degrees 24/7.I've pretty much lost all hope for the other seeds and only have 2 healthy seedlings and one seed.

I was planning to have 10 plants this summer which means including the one seed and the seedlings i would need to have 7 clones, which is about 3 per each of the seedlings I have already. How do you know when a plant is ready to be cloned? Is there a specific height or structure thats necessary for proper cloning?
