Problem While Flowering :S

Well these are the specs.
Soil: Worm-Soil.No nutes added. No perlite added. Watering only when soil is cracking.
Stain: PPP
She is currently on her 4th week flowering and the leaves are getting VERY thin -check the pics-

Tips of the leaves are curling up also.

Is this normal on flowering?Or is it something i should be really scared of?

It could be a range of things,
You should fill out the trouble shooting forum.


I probly aint right on this, But correct me if I'm wrong,
It could be a nitrogen defficentcy wich is causing the leafs to brown.

What's the ph of your water?
The lights your using?
Watering schedual?
Humidity?
Do you have the right ventalation?

My leafs were starting to get thin and curl inward, But thats cause she was starting to get root bound. So it could be that, Im about just as far as you in flowering, And I had to use 18 gallon buckets for her. =/.

Im watering every 3 days aprox.
HPS 250W for 4 little chics (between 40cm and 70cm) of course 12/12
Im using tap water on all plants and other chics dont have the problem.(i cant know whats the PH.....i CANT get the equipment for pH testing... :S)
Humidity is @60-70%

Its possible that the rootbound issue is happening, BUT i dont understand HOW i have a rootbound one (im SURE she is rootbound because she hasnt grown in a while and she is in a very little pot) and she doesnt have this problem.(shes flowering AMAZINGLY and looks sexy )

The one with the problem is aprox 60cm high and she lives in a 4 gallon pot, so i dont think she is rootbound yet.

You should really get a bottle of Fox Farms Tiger Bloom, So you can spike up the nitrogen for the plant, It doesnt need alott for flowering, Significantly less than vegg, But with out it, Your plants can get really sick.

If you think shes root bound, Try re potting her [Be carefull not to ripp roots].

And drop your humidity down, Thats kind of high for flowering, I keep my humidity down really low, And turn the lights down for 1 hour a day before I spray the leafs with water.

I know this probly sounds crazy, But your tap water could be essentially hurting the plant(s) even if only one is showing symptoms, Try boiling your water first, Letting it cool down then watering them.
Just so you can boil out the chlorine and other chemicals in the water.

Hmmm...adding a bloom fert to spike the nitrogen...? In a medium that's nearly 100% nitrogen...?

Spiked...since you don't know what you are doing, likely you shouldn't offer advise. If anyone, at this point, takes your advise...they do so at their own risk.
Personally, I can't think of any reason that you shouldn't read the fuck out of the FAQ's, read the fuck out of the growlogs...and stay the fuck out of the cannabis troubleshooting business until you learn how to garden, yourself. This isn't Homey's guess-o-rama, and you are putting other members meds at risk offering your bad advise.

So Kmakok, you are in straight worm castings...? No soil or perlite added? Where did you get the idea this was ok? The worm castings turn into a mucky, muddy mess that suffocates the roots. Transplant immediatelly into a 'normal' potting mix, or they will die. Period. It might even be too late.

Worm castings are an additive, not a medium. 1 or 2 tablespoons, mixed into a five gallon pot of soil works fine. Too much nitrogen during flower will cause severe stretch, nutrient burn, and the stress can either convert her into a hermaphrodite, or kill her. And before someone asks, no. Putting perlite into a pot of 100% worm castings doesn't work either.

Fertilized Soil with worm compost.
Contains: 80%soil /16% worm castings/ 2% rice / 2% sawdust
I dont really believe the N is a problem because of this.
Ive been trying to get perlite, but im having a hard time... il keep trying(i think i can get it at a pet shop cause they use it for water tanks)
Now: Is it ok if i transplant in flowering and add some perlite to the new soil?Because i wont be able to change the soil that is around the roots cause that WILL cause some severe stress during flowering.
So do we stick that the problem is the non-existence of perlite?

<SIGH> My diagnosis was assuming that what you referred to as worm soil was worm castings. There's a big difference between worm castings, and a peat-based soil containing worm castings. Would you call a peat-based soil 'perlite soil', just because perlite is added?

Fill-out the troubleshooting form and someone will likely swing-by to offer some sound advise. Be specific, and don't believe for a second that we can read your mind, or you'll get more advise like that which has been offered already.

Listen folks...if you want accurate help, give us the complete picture. This site has a troubleshooting form for a reason, and the info you provide from the form is the only way we have to help you through the rough spots. With missing or inaccurate information comes inappropriate and possibly damaging remedies.

Go ahead and transplant, it should be ok. Use some good potting soil and upgrade a gallon or 2. Not sure what size pot you have it in now.

Rusty thanks for clearing that up. I thought I might of had to while reading, until I saw your enlightening post. That's good because you always say it better then I ever could.

At first thought I was thinking heat stress. How far are lights? Temps? Is it all the way down the plant or just the top? Peace

Omg. Im sry for the non-detailed question. I left urgently to go look for perlite. Couldnt find any, but found gravel and river rocks in an aquarium shop. Only thing i can find right now... Can i use gravel?

The plants are aprox 20-25cmts from the 250w HPS bulb. Some are even closer than her and only she has this problem.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! UPDATE: i believe i found the answer. She was NEXT to the ballaster which gets REALLY HOT and maybe it was heat stress. I moved the ballaster. Il keep you guys updated if this changes her health

20-25 centimeters I assume you mean. That's under a foot, close to 8-9 inches I believe. It wouldn't hurt to raise it up over a foot. Don't take my word, I don't know if you have a cool tube or what not.

The "Ballast" could be the culprit though. We will see what happens.

Any more problems use the form, that's what it is there for.
